RE: Memphis
It will be good for Memphis, but not good for Mick Cronin. The more 4 and 5 star athletes that go to other AAC schools, the more that the conference excuse is finally put to rest.
If it's not the conference, or the facilities, it has to be the coach.
Then again, even when we had 2 NBA players on our roster, we couldn't beat Xavier or make it out of the first weekend, so maybe better recruiting won't really help us...

So...obviously the solution is...worse recruiting?

Not implying that at all... I'm just implying that recruiting better would be nice, but might not solve our biggest problems.

RE: Memphis
He hasn't done anything yet. Tommy Amaker recruited a killer class to Seton Hall in 2001 - Eddie Griffin, Andre Barrett, Sam Dalenbert, Ty Shine, and some great college players. Went 16-15. LSU routinely gets top recruits. With Ben Simmons they went to the NIT. Lavin at St Johns.
Getting studs helps. But it isn't everything. Frankly we need Memphis to not suck.

This is my feeling as well. People acting like Hardaway has turned Memphis into a national power. Remember the absolute studs Pat Kennedy was bringing to Depaul and not making NCAA tournaments with.

Tony Yates was able to recruit some studs when he was here, but couldn't win games.

RE: Memphis
He must be a John Calipari type "recruiter".
