Michigan's faculty has been stridently anti-Israel to the point where one professor refused to provide a letter of recommendation to a student who wanted to study abroad there. He told the student, he would provide a letter for any other country besides Israel.

Utterly appalling and yet many Jewish students attend the UM. Unfortunately, they are mostly Ashkenazim (Central European descent) Reform Jews and big Leftists/Democrats. My niece is dating a Sephardim (Spanish descent who were forced out of Spain during the Inquisition and ended up in north Africa mainly) 'Conservative' Jewish guy from Israel. They're usually very conservative politically-he's a big supporter of 'Bibi' Netanyahu and Donald Trump. Naturally, he and I agree on a lot of political topics.
