Should be coming off the bench, improving in practice, increasing his minutes as his career progresses. He is a 4 year guy. Not sure the reason to think he needs to be in there so much; as a freshman.
I don't want to go down this rabbit hole because I love our guys. But you're applying 2009 logic to our 2018-19 Tigers. You have to be a 4-5 star to start for this team? How many 4-5 stars do you think we have?

Not even close to my point. My point was ; they don’t Have to start from day1. Hell a O star Can start if they are ready. Just let the young man develop, he will be fine. He just needs time to adjust.

So is your point that:
1) He can develop better from the bench?
or
2) There is someone better to play for winning sake now?
To be honest, I disagree with both. Losing sucks. I hate it but let's not get irrational.

Harris, Lomax, Jones, and maybe Maurice.
Develop those four and hold on until next year.
None of Martin, Thornton, Davenport, Brewton, or Parks is even shooting 60% from the FT line.
Harris, Lomax, and Maurice are all over 80%
As much as Martin, Davenport, (and Parks when he starts playing more) get to the line that is extremely costly......

Offensively Brewton is better and it is not even close but if Penny is playing Lomax because he is the better defender I can live with that...But Lomax is going to have to become WAAAAAAY more efficient offensively because right now he is hurting other guys offensive games.

FT shooting has been rough. I look at Martin and Davenport. Their 3 point and free throw percentages are both down. There is plenty of blame to go around, but if JM was playing on the same level as last year, we'd probably have 2 more wins.
I will never understand a guard that struggles with FTs.

Martin has been aggravating me at the end of games. His FT shooting has been atrocious, but as soon as the other team starts fouling at the end of the game, Martin won't pass the ball. He holds it until they foul him. It is selfish and a terrible decision. PASS the ball to Harris or Lomax and win those games.

This team is playing selfishly and I’m not going to name names but Penny has been developing a quicker hook on those who are. If we are to have any hope of developing into a good hard nosed, unselfish team, this has got to stop. Some guys think the fancier the pass , the better it looks are really hurting the team.
