Eastern Michigan University shows significant increase in graduation rates
https://today.emich.edu/story/story/10816
Four, give, and six-year graduation rates have all improved. Good news. Important for our funding levels, as the formula for state funding includes graduation rates.

One thing I'll be watching next month is the elections across America, esp. in Michigan.
There will be a new governor next year. Should be interesting to see about increased funding for Michigan colleges and universities.

Dear Friends,
I'm with steve. If we get a democratic governor and one house of the legislature controlled by democrats, we should see an increase in State funding for universities.
Great news on the graduation rates!

I'm not sure of Michigan's finances (I'm usually more preoccupied by Virginia and D.C. and to a lesser extent Maryland) but if the state is running a surplus then there are bucks which can be spent.
I'd be shocked if a Democratic governor would make the same budget choices as the outgoing governor.
As I've suggested in other posts, if Lansing drops an additional 5 - 10M per year on schools like EMU, CMU, WMU, etc. a lot of university presidents would sleep well at night.
EDIT: Here are some estimates from a Detnews article:
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/p.../34941571/
I think EMU budget shortfall is a few percent of total budget.

The GOP is terrible for Education. #1 reason not to vote for them
Sorry, did I get off topic? Lol.
