Offense under Creighton
This is year 5 under Creighton and every year we have a running QB and a drop back passer, but have we ever committed to one philosophy? I believe this is part of our offensive issues.

RE: Offense under Creighton
I think it comes down to two things:

1. lack of creativity in the scheme and play calling.

2. Average talent at OL and RB. This is not meant as a knock on those guys because I think they play their tails off, but they're not going to win simply because they have more skill than their opponents.

I think the offense was fine with Porter and Roback at quarterback our running backs and offensive line was productive the past two seasons much of that personnel is here for their senior years

I think part of the problem is where we are at in regards to recruiting. We are not and probably will never be in a position where we can turn away talent that doesn’t fit our scheme. Wiegers has talent, Glass has talent, but we all know how they differ. I think we are just going to frame the offense around the most talented QB we have at the time. Again not sure I like this strategy, but I believe that is where we are at.

King you make a great observation. Wiegers is a one year lease but he is talented and his local roots could reopen some recruiting avenues. We simply could not pass on him.

Our next two QB candidates Glass and Grissom are dual threat and as Glass has showed are susceptible to injury. Please do not sleep on Jackson from Cass Tech who is being redshirted this year. He is an incredible physical specimen that looked like a man among boys in the spring game even though he did not throw well. I'm thinking that Creighton has been tilting towards the guys who are less drop back passers.

Actually EMU had the 11th place MAC rushing offense in 2017. They were 8th in 2016. There's been a drop off. Maybe because they had (almost) two NFL OTs in 2016. Maybe because of the OC change.

Two letters.............OC

Creighton needs to make another Neathery type hire, to run his offense.

Perhaps but we passed effectively last year and our o line did not allow many sacks and was ranked nationally in fewest sacks that was with a mobile quarterback and experienced wide outs and our rushing attack improved the second half of the season. Keens play calling improved the second half in my opinion but its not good at this point

I read about that team a couple years ago when I was looking at who could be a replacement when DeBoer left. Never knew his whole story.

No STitt doesn't always onside, or never punt. he was at Montana and in year 3 got fired because they lost to Montana State, and was replaced by the old montana coach who flammed out at UNLV

Our passing game was pretty darn good last year because Roback was a pretty darn good QB. Excluding Sergio, the receivers we have this year are better than last year's.

Mm I think we lack a real game breaker and guys struggle to get open leading to coverage sacks also the NIU game showed several times where the receivers and quarterback were not on the same page

I agree that a very good QB like Roback can be a difference maker.
