Yea I took our Niner friend's advice and went to AGS. Digging back all the way to '07-'08 when they were talking about getting a team. I'm probably reading through black tinted glasses but I saw numerous App fans with positive things to say about the 49ers. Obviously I did not read every thread on the board. Of course there were a couple talking negatively but the overall feel seemed complimentary.

The worst thing I read came from a Cantamount fan, no less. I wish I could find the quote (I'll keep looking this evening). A Cantamount fan also pulled a quote from the Niner board, where their fans were claiming they were about to take over NC football. Think this was circa 2008 (don't quote me on this).

In 2011, Coach Lambert had this to say: "I kind of take that as a compliment," Lambert says about the rejections from the Big South and the Southern Conference. "They might be a little nervous to play us." This is big talk from a coach who has yet to put his team on the field.

Needless to say, I cannot find who fired the first shot but the war has been raging for nearly a decade now. Good times!

Timeout, I was a GSU hater when they went all UNCC from the start. The difference is GSU righted the ship hired a real coach and now have earned some respect. They have winning seasons, bowl wins, etc. UNCC has absolutely none of that.

True, but they are 0-4 vs App, yet a lot of them still talk smack the week of our game. They maybe have earned that right with other teams, but not with us. GSU is gradually earning respect. Kudos. UNCC should just be silent all together.

Three "big city" schools all started football around the same time and all seem to have eerily similar fans in Charlotte, GSU, and UTSA.

They have continued this narrative for years, it what you do to justify why you stood by and allowed Judy Rose to kill any respect you once had from a few good seasons of basketball decades ago. Same reason why Judy would talk about all their women's sports success while the money making sports withered and died concurrently.

One time, we burned his hat at our tailgate. Next time he showed up at the game, he was wearing another. That ship sailed years ago.
