It depends on whether he was involved with the creation of the fake dossier or if he was duped by the fake dossier. I don't think that is clear at this point. Until that is clear, I'm not going to speak ill of the dead.

Be a better person!
Tell your Clintons that?

He got over his grudge against W. But couldn't get over his grudge against Trump.
"John McCain requested that former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush deliver eulogies at his funeral, CBS News has confirmed. McCain, who had been suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer, died Saturday at the age of 81 at home in Arizona. Both Mr. Obama and Mr. Bush will deliver their remarks during a service at the National Cathedral.
Former Vice President Joe Biden will speak at a separate service honoring the senator in Arizona.
McCain had long feuded with President Trump and, according to The Associated Press, two White House officials said McCain's family had asked, before the senator's death, that Mr. Trump not attend the funeral services. Vice President Pence is likely to attend, said the officials, who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.
The New York Times says, "Mr. McCain quietly declared before his death that he did not want Mr. Trump to take part in his funeral....""

What in the Dossier is fake? STOP THE LIES
You don't seem to get it. The question is not what in the dossier is fake, but what in the dossier has been independently verified? For the purposes that the dossier was used, not independently verified is legally the same as fake.
I made a simple post saying I worry about history not being kind to the senator because of his involvement in the fake dossier and Machiavelli goes off about Trump lying? A Clinton supporter going off about lying is just plain out hypocritical?

I feel bad for McCain's family who will be mourning their loss. I can appreciate his military service to his country. I won't call it a sacrifice because IMHO he was richly compensated for serving in Vietnam when you look at how his life played out afterwards.
Strictly speaking on his record as a senator - it sure was a mixed bag at best. And that EGO...

Wow. That's the most offensive AND ridiculous statement I've seen regarding McCain since his death.

Yea, that pretty ridiculous. People are awful.
OK... No one on this forum gave 2 sh!ts about McCain until he died - and it's even more blatant in the media who were only too happy to call him one of the devil's own children when he ran against Obama. McCain changed a lot from the time he was a prisoner in Hanoi vs what he became spending more than one career in the senate. Be they Dems or GOP'ers - ANYONE who spends more than 2 terms in the senate is not doing so to make a difference. It's all about ego, corruption and a lust to have power.
If I'm a rotten person because of that view...so be it.
When he was getting the crap beaten out of him in the Hanoi Hilton, yes, it was a sacrifice. When you are in that situation, all you want to do is survive.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I always loved McCain. He's been my favorite politician since the late 90s. He's the only politician I ever got a bumper sticker for (it was a magnet, and it's still on my fridge). I voted for him in the 2000 primary when I was 17 years old (in Ohio, you can vote in the primary if you're going to be 18 by the general election).

In the comments of the article about his death I read on Saturday night, someone wrote RIH. Rest in Hanoi or Rest in Hell were my guesses.
