Of course, if complaining and second-guessing on a message board actually accomplished anything, we’d be favored to win the SEC every year.

RE: Hopson contract extended
If net football ticket sales revenues for the fiscal years 2019 and 2020 exceed $2,370,000, Hopson will received 50 percent of the excess. In fiscal years 2021 and 2022, if net football ticket sales revenues exceed $2,500,000 and $2,550,000 respectively, Hopson will be owed 50 percent of the excess.

Considering the home schedule next year (2019) is Alcorn St along with 4 CUSA games I don't see Hopson getting that bonus unless the $2.37 million is a low ball number to begin with. The following are home games the next 4 years of his contract:

2018 - Jackson St, UL Monroe, La Tech, Rice, UTSA, Marshall
2019 - Alcorn St, UAB, UTEP, UNT, CUSA East team TBD
2020 - South Alabama, TBD, La Tech, Rice, UTSA, CUSA East TBD
2021 - no OOC home games announced yet, same CUSA games as 2019

Only way you fix those is by: (a) getting to a better conference or (b) winning a lot of games.

We would be, at best, middle of the pack CUSA.

At this point, the program is desperate for fans who even care enough to complain.

We still have about the same number of USM fans we have had the last 20 years...The problem is, Tulane, Louisville, E Carolina, Houston and Memphis were long-time rivals with enough name-recognition that could bring out the 5,000 or so who have to be prodded each game----That 5,000 could not give a sh!t about Old Dominatrix, FL Int'l Airport or UTAlamo. Hence, we have 22K at the game, not 27-28K. (and yes, I know we have cut back on freebies too)

We also do better when OP/MSUcks suck, or when we are playing them and BEATING them. I know lots of MSU and OP fans in the area who used to go to MM Roberts to view a win, rather than spend the time going up to N. Mississippi to see the Black Bears lose.

Also, every SEC game is on TV today (you ever see Troy or UAB attendance when Bama or Auburn plays? It drops from 10,000 to 5,000 tops!03-lmfao), and like it or not, the whole southeast is ATE UP with the SEC!

We screwed the pooch when all our former college "brethren" in the AAC told us to go F ourselves....and all we can really do is hope conference re-affiliation begins anew SOON.

While OP fans can hope they one day win an SEC West title, something they've never done.04-cheers

That, my friend, is the problem.

If complaining is all they’re motivated to do, we’re just as well off or bad off without them as we are with them. Tree falling in the forest and that whole bit.

No need to complicate it Chief.
