If Democrats actually gave a crap about election security we’d have voter fraud protection, vote4 ID legislation, border securirty, and anti hacking measures. Instead, they are hypocritically just fine with voter fraud by illegal aliens they think might be advantageous to Democrats. Like I’ve said before, Democrats in Washington are anti American trash. They hate democracy. If they could get away with it, Democrats would make America a Socialist Nation and install Obama as Dear Leader For Life.
All of this crap happened under b Hussein obama’s reign. This would never have been brought to the light of day had Hilldog won. Think about that a minute and try and deny it to yourself. First on the road to recovery is to recognize the truth from the big lie. My guess is recovery for some is beyond the realm of possibility.
First problem is giving security clearance to people solely because they are a states top election official. They should pass vetting like it should be. Don't want all those commies (or Russians) around the country getting an easy path.
This is best:
Quote:Under current law, DHS is already able to work with state and local authorities to protect elections, Walters wrote. If Congress pursues the Secure Elections Act, it should avoid duplicating “existing DHS efforts or the imposition of unnecessary requirements” and “not violate the principles of Federalism.”
“We cannot support legislation with inappropriate mandates or that moves power or funding from the states to Washington for the planning and operation of elections,” she added. However, the White House gave no specifics on what parts of the bill it objected to.
Rare the feds don't overstep and take more and more power wrongfully from the states. We have 50 states (and protectorates) and each decide how to run their own elections.
Why do you have to demonize the other side of an issue? Aren't you guilty of what you decried on the other thread? Its not always necessary to write new laws when you have a problem. Sometimes you just need competent people doing their job, unlike what happened in the Obama administration.
As for a paper trail, that seems logical. But don't forget hanging chads. Florida and the nonsense procedure that gave us Al Franken in Minnesota lead the push to electronic ballots which are digital with no shades of gray. They can be spoiled, but they can't be unclear.
And if Democrats are really for voter security, why do they oppose voter ID laws? Its not hard to get an ID. Illegals do just fine getting them. You have to have ID to get a full time job. Why not to vote? It would also help in prosecuting fraud cases like the ones in North Carolina if they were able to vote in the first place.
"...In a statement to Yahoo News, White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters says that while the administration “appreciates Congress’s interest in election security, [the Department of Homeland Security] has all the statutory authority it needs to assist state and local officials to improve the security of existing election infrastructure.”

Why do you wish for even more federal intrusion into our lives as a result of passing even more laws, redundant laws at that? And here's the elephant in the room: VoterID. The first step toward election security is ensuring that everyone who turns up at a polling station actually has the legal right to vote. Except for the potential of someone obtaining fake ID's this is the most foolproof method of ensuring you are who you say you are IMO.

The voter ID thing the libs want is another racist thing the libs do. In their thinking blacks and other minorities are too stupid to take care of an ID. I believe they are just as smart as Anglos and can handle an ID.

Not wanting voter ID to protect minorities is a democrat smokescreen to cover their real motivation for not wanting voter rules scrutinized and tighter protection of the vote.
The real reason is to allow illegals and other non-citizens residing in the US to vote with little to no threat or fear of being caught.
Minorities are just as capable of obtaining IDs as anyone else and they do because they need them to take part in modern life — qualify for public benefits, fly on a plane, get married, buy cigs and beer, enter a hospital or see a doctor for treatment, etc. Heck you can't pick up something orderered from a retailer without showing an ID.
The GOP does everything they can to suppress minority voting. They desperately want to rob black and brown people if the right to vote, and election security is their new racial dog whistle.

If?
You make it sound like if minorities choose to vote, then they're being suppressed.
You guys don’t care about fair elections. You care about voter suppression.
That's a failure of communication. Georgia had the same issues when they required more documentation. Everybody has that stuff. They just don't know that they need it.

yeah because being forced to show a picture ID is soooooo oppressive. Such a tool.
