God rest his soul, regardless of anything else.

In death, I will say nothing more bad about him.

He might have been too old for this...my neighbor up at my summer home in NY was diagnosed with glioblastoma. After surgery he started wearing an Optune Device over his skull. He is in remission still. He has beaten the odds so far. One of the worst cancers to get.

https://www.optune.com/discover-optune/how-optune-works

That Optune device is blowing away the medical community for its effectiveness. Localized electromagnetic waves prevent cell growth, which kills cancer. The problem is that docs just want to bombard your body with toxics and radiation.

Optune is made by NovoCure, which is a Channel Islands company. Bought the stock more than a year ago, and it has more than tripled. They have trials ongoing for many other cancers. This stock could be an easy 10-bagger or much higher.

Have used alternative medicine myself for a major ailment that the “doctors” didn’t have a clue what to do. Got grief from most of the doctors, when they didn’t have a clue what to do except give opiates for pain and sedatives for the brain but get mad at me for going to a non-MD. So many diseases are caused by heavy metals and introduced man-made chemicals, which is what most drugs are. My alternative naturopath could detect what ailed me by using some standards externally, and if my body muscles got stonger (instantaneously), and herbal supplement or homeopathic remedy was found that same way. No expensive tests, but just 15 minutes of pain free checking of my body organs by touching the skin in different strategic spots with both the standards and the remedies.

Most Drs are just too stubborn to try something new that is non-harmful. The Hippocratic oath says to do no harm, but most Docs do it every working day by giving toxic drugs.

Hopefully, McCain has found Optune.

She also didn't want to be anyone's burden like so many of our oldsters are. She died of an aneurysm. It was very painful, sure, but it did the job that she wanted. Me too. Thank God that cancer doesn't run in our family but heart attacks do. My neighbors sister had cancer and she fought it to the very end and at the end she suffered a lot, and that's no way to leave this earth.

A few months back my wife told me to take my BP and it was 185 over 100 something. She said you're going to the doctor. I told her what for, maybe I can kick the bucket like my mom and she said (and the doctor too) that not everyone dies in a stroke as some come out all messed up and can't do anything for themselves not even do personal business by themselves. I certainly don't want that that's why I agreed to see the doctor and now I'm on BP medicine. At the doctors it came out 202 over 100 something. Ha, ha, she wanted me to go to emergency and said "no way". I didn't go, went home instead.

My Grandfather had a stroke. He could no longer communicate. He was in a bed for nearly 2 years. He could grunt. He sometimes got angry. But we didn't know how much of him was left. If he was angry because he couldn't communicate trapped in that body or if he was basically just a vegetable. There couldn't be too many worse ways to go.

I will say this. I've never seen such a long funeral procession. I don't know how many were other WWII and other vets (he spent over 30 years in the army) and how many knew him from being a cook at the bowling alley, but he sure had a lot of people honoring him.

Also my wife's mother had a stroke. For the first year, while she remembered many things, she had no clue who my wife was. Not sure if she ever figured it out or if she just knew her as the girl who came to visit her. That was really tough on my wife. She lived about 5 years in the nursing home and could be wheeled around.

I'm afraid of being fed and taken care of hand and foot, that's the main thing. I know you're an atheist, I'm not. Remember what the Bible says, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". Take your pick which is better? *mic drop*

there's a difference between ignoring an obvious health issue and not fearing death...I mean, life's not a race, I'm not trying to get to the end first.

if taking some pills is able to keep me healthy for an extra few years...cool.

They don't keep you healthy, they keep you alive. If you are in your early 30's with those levels you should really consider a bit of a lifestyle change.
