2019 Frisco Tickets
2019 FCS Championship Presale info has been officially posted here:
https://www.ncaa.com/tickets/football/fcs

Key items:
Presale begins Thursday, 8/23 at 11:00am

You must signup before Tues, 8/21 to be included:
Register here: http://pub.s1.exacttarget.com/tdrvfgej4vy

Unique web link URLs and a passcode are emailed out.

Last year it seemed at least 90-95% of general public seating was sold within 5 minutes of the presale start, and almost no inventory was left for the general public. It is also likely JMU's block of tickets would be around 4,000 seats - in extremely high demand, and require high priority points. A lot of folks were disappointed last year.

We will be competing with Bison fans for these tickets. Last year the stadium was approx 60% NDSU fans, and I believe it did give them a crowd noise edge at some key moments in the game.

IF YOU WANT TO GO TO FRISCO, NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT

Apologies for the double posting here, didn't want anyone to overlook this as "last year's" event.

LOL, perhaps, but they also send out unique URLs linked to your email address for purchase. You may or may not be able to purchase without that. Also, they limit purchases to 8 tickets per email. It says they will cancel purchases that exceed this limit per name, email, credit card, or mailing address. This is to try to limit ticket brokers from buying large numbers.

Takes one minute to fill out the form, wouldn't risk it personally.

Excellent advice!!

I am 99% sure the Dukes will be in this game. The lingering 1% of doubt is tied to my continuing concerns about our 3rd string placekick holding situation. Once again, Mike Houston just doesn't prioritize this in recruiting, which pisses me off.

ohh totally signed up. and the links in the email do seem unique. But I had to laugh at the passcode.

Where are you getting each schools allotment would only be 4,000? JMU's alottment was 5,300 last year.
https://jmusports.com/news/2017/11/20/fo...ation.aspx
If JMU made it back to Frisco why would JMU's alottment be less than last year when there would be more seats available?

The 2015 NC game between NDSU & JSU, the last before the renovations started, when the stadium had a listed capacity of 20,500, had an attendance listed at 21,836.

Last year's NC game attendance was listed at 19,090, and that included SRO, because a couple thousand seats were unavailable due to the renovations not being done yet. I assume the renovations are finally done (or will be). The stadium's capacity is still listed at 20,500. So there should be more seats available than last year. So each school's allotment should be at least last year's 5,300, maybe a little more.

Last two years I believe 4,000 has been the baseline number.

The 1,300 additional last year was from completion of the endzone after the public tickets had been sold, and believe JMU issued the majority or all of those to students. So really, there were only 4,000 available for JMU season ticket holders to purchase based on priority points.

This could change this year, but I certainly wouldn’t count on it. Also would not be surprised if the endzone is part of the presale event this year. NCAA does not really set this up for schools like JMU and doesn’t want to take a risk of unsold seats/revenue if a smaller school were to make it.

These same debates/arguments occurred last year. Bottom line is there was a shortage of tickets last year, and I expect it will happen again.

Anyone who wants a guaranteed seat should get it now. The risk is relatively low, and prices will skyrocket if we have a repeat of last year.

Anyone not in the top 1,000 in Duke Club ranking should get tickets now, or anyone in the top 1k Duke Club ranking who thinks they would want extra tickets above their allowable Duke Club allotment.

As I recall, last year the cutoff to get tickets through JMU was around 1200-1300 in Duke Club ranking. As I vaguely recall, someone in the 1100s stated on here they got them, and someone in the 1200 or 1300s stated they didn't..

RE: 2019 Frisco Tickets
For anyone still wondering, the 4,000 ticket per school allocation was laid out in the FCS Championship manual on page 50, located here:
http://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/...171207.pdf

Technically each school gets 4,149 +cheerleaders and band. The 149 tickets located in the terrace and suites are typically used for school “vip” purposes though and not sold openly the way others are.

The 1,300 additional end zone seats were a bonus last year in part because construction completion was last minute, so they couldn’t sell them in advance. The new endzone may be part of the presale this year, or the NCAA could choose to add these to each school’s baseline allotment, but it would seem to break with past precedent. We will likely have a good idea this Thursday when the tickets go on sale.

My bet is the NCAA sells these in advance, which will leave 4000 (minus student allotment) for season ticket/duke club members. The priority points required this year to make the cut will likely increase from prior years.

Per email to Duke Club members today:

CHAMPIONSHIP TICKET INFORMATION FOR ADVANCING TEAMS
The NCAA guarantees the two schools participating in the National Championship an equal allotment of tickets for the game (providing 5,300 seats to JMU last season).

Well, looks like they finally got the construction done.

For last Jan's game, due to the renovations not being done was only about 18k seats available +1k SRO, 19,090 listed attendance. Apparently are back up to 20.5k seats

It’s absolutely pathetic that the ncaa signed a contract for a facility with 20k+ seats and then they take what seems like forever (two years) to complete renovation that for that period lowers the capacity even further.

It shows how much the ncaa cares that they didn’t bother to put in the contract that if the capacity lowers during the period, they can walk away to a new venue. It just happened to be the two years JMU was there.

Unrelated to Tickets however important to the journey in Texas. If you have not already done so, you should book your hotel stay as well. Depending on where you and your group likes to stay there are already hotels selling out (called several yesterday). My group typically stays in the Legacy Town area of Plano and some of the hotels there are booked thru the month of Jan with events. I realize there are many hotels in the area but depending on the teams and size of crowds in conjunction with outside events you may have groups taking up spaces they normally wouldnt. Just food for thought for anyone who has not already planned this portion.

Good advice Knit!

Bison seem to be getting a little concerned. One of their favorite hometown ticket aggregators/brokers for Frisco tix posted the DC letter that went out about this. Makes me think they may have joined DC to resell JMU tickets also.

These tickets will go fast. JMU Sports says they sold out in under 2 minutes last year. Priority cutoff was 110 points last year, “expected to be much higher” this year.

They didn't sell out in 2 minutes last year. The site kept producing 2 seat increments for days and weeks following, people just assumed it was sold out. The site couldn't handle the volume at once.

You are right, a lot of tickets moved fast, and then they seemed to slowly trickle in a few at a time afterward. Think it may have been by design, so that the first folks in didn’t buy up 100%, but still seems to me at least 80% of them were gone inside of 5 minutes. I was quoting the JMU article on “under 2 minutes”, not sure if that was what NCAA told them, or someone else’s recollection. My short term memory forgot about the extended trickle afterward.

Last day to sign up for the presale event here:
http://pub.s1.exacttarget.com/tdrvfgej4vy

Last year an email with unique web link and not-so-unique passcode went out at 6:00am the day of the sale. You may need to check your junk/spam folder for this, as it is a bulk email that can get flagged as spam.

Prices were $75 each last year (less than some JMU games on stub hub) and at their peak were selling between $300 and $1000+ in December.

Officially there is a limit of 8 tickets based on unique email, name, credit card, or mailing address. NCAA says they will cancel orders over that limit.

We will be competing with both bison fans and ticket brokers (some are both). Good luck everyone!
