I fail to see why any private citizen, not employed by the government or a government contractor, would have any need for a security clearance. The main reason is the time it takes to be cleared and the backlog. Essentially, you retain your clearance, but you cannot use it unless there is a "need to know". If the clearance itself was revoked due to any employment gap, the investigation would have to be redone to be employed again and we would be paying for shitton of people to sit on the bench while the investigation takes place (there is something like an 18 month backlog).

Negative. That was true before it was revoked. When it is revoked, it cannot be reactivated. A new investigation is needed, which he would fail due to having a clearance revoked. He is phucked.

From what I've heard, and mentioned above, former employees are sometimes utilized by future or current administrations since they have expertise in certain areas. So having a clearance allows them to be quickly used when needed.

If they're not used, they're not getting any sensitive information, so having the clearance doesn't mean then can just look at any piece of sensitive information they want. It would have to be provided to them by someone in the administration authorized to do so.

How will this be interpreted by the Dems when it happens? Will phrases like "a list of enemies" or Retribution be used..... ?
