Tennessee is historically divided into three regions and the "Central" region has been called "Middle" Tennessee for about 200 years. If Florida had designated the Orlando area as "Middle" Florida; then UCF would probably be UMF. There is no such thing as "Central" Tennessee.

We own Memphis State. Total win record is 17 - 9. Sorry about the facts.

Strategically, MTSU is dying. Our school (my grad degree is from MTSU) starves for resources as the gap widens between the haves (the P-5) and the have nots (the G-5). The schools within the AAC have the best chance of survival. It is not right or fair, but MTSU is out in the cold. Start shivering.

I stopped "shivering " just long enough to give you a little footnote to the Memphis vs. MT dialogue. Not only is Middle up on your tigers 17-9 all-time but contrary to the "World War II" bologney we've won 4 of the last 6. ALL IN The Last 12 years! If we can just borrow your sugar daddy, Fred Smith and get some of that Fed EX money MT will be just fine.03-nutkick

A wealthy benefactor is a necessary ingredient in a successful athletic program these days. Don't begrudge us ours. If you need one, hire a decent AD and let him go get one. Must be a liberal... jealous of other's success instead of buckling down and working on your own success process.

Exactly. Absent any political persuasion, the simple facts are Fred Smith and Fed Ex were and are shrewd, savvy, loyal and committed enough to give full-throated
financial support to Memphis and it didn't have anything to do with who the AD was or is. You are to be commended for your good fortune. In Nashville, MT has to compete for dollars with Titans, Preds, Vandy, and UT. We'll survive and whether Shere Khan wants to play MT or not, it's inevitable. Just not this year.

It's not political, it's societal. The lines between the world of politics and sports has been completely blurred by the likes of the NFL kneelers and people like Geoff Calkins and Gary what's his face. I'm not talking about Party politics. I'm talking about society's ever-more widening penchant for victimhood.

I know success fleets. The only good thing about bottoming out is increased appreciation and joy from the ride up. I sense UConn’s dark days are over.

MTSU has had some good teams these past 5-6 season...both programs have big fan bases in Nashville and it gives the Jackson Tiger fans an easy game to dive to.

say 1 game in Nashville every 3 years would keep the series 'fresh'

Some MTSU fans nip at heels like little terriers - ferocious with intent but harmless in effect. Just pat them on the head and move on....

Last 10 years, FWIW: (Most MT fans admire what Memphis is accomplishing, but we all need to win more.)

MT 67-59. 0.532

The last 10 years mtsu has 100% has the weakest schedule out of the four.

My high school probably has a 90-40 record the last 10 years but does that mean they’re better than all four? No.
