Fan Fest Saturday night
Anyone planning to attend the FanFest events Saturday night at Waldo Stadium? Football scrimmage and family fun stuff, meet the players. And no admission charge - but you can donate a pair of children's athletic shoes to help those in need.

I’m definitely going, got a pair of small shoes to bring, and I’m going to fight off everyone for a nice jersey from last season.

Agood crowd - looks like the team is getting ready to scrimmage. Goo run by Bellamy on first play. A late summer football fix for the fans. Great fun.
I must quit typing without my glasses on!

RE: Fan Fest Saturday night
Fan Fest Depth Chart, in case you’re interested:
First Team during scrimmage:
Wassink
Bellamy/Bogan
Eskridge/Harris
Curtis/Hall
Watson/Arnett
Miller/Ricci
Moore
Caliendo
Keenoy
Juriga
Brooks (Novo still on mend I think)
Bellamy looks noticeably thicker. Eleby #2 and Mussat #3, Rector #4. Offense had the better day.
First Team defense (as best as I could tell)
Balabani
French
Holley
Assoua
Grace
Spears
Hayward/Moment (Clayton working with 2s)
Dowels
E. Jackson
Thomas
Moertl (I think they were resting our top 3)
Didn’t pay much attention to D, they were on other side of stadium, and I was watching QBs and backs.
Didn’t watch special teams much, Jaret Curtis was the holder.
Fun day! Fun watching a few freshmen moments. Overall, the team looked pretty in sync.

And I got my brown jersey, a #52 Keenoy in decent condition, though every jersey has the nameplate ripped off. Same number I had in HS sports, but I almost didn’t want a smelly, stinky offensive lineman’s jersey

Glad you scored your jersey. Folks were sure digging through those boxes.

Didn't pay too much attention to individual players or the scrimmage because my wife and I were busy with the kids. Our little ones had a great time. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Pretty solid attendance too. This really is a great event -- prefer it over the spring game (and spring football is tough to beat). Job well done by WMU and everyone involved.

Curious, how much did the jerseys cost?

Usually $50, but the browns were $75, probably because they are current uniforms. Still a few from election night 2016 against Ball St., which are nice. Also some ugly gray/wood grain ones left, and even a few gold/goofy oars on top.
Now I’ve completed the wardrobe with brown, white, and a black one from the centennial team.

Not that it really matters at all, but I'm pretty sure that Election Night 2016 was against Kent St. I remember sitting in the rain during the first half as we were playing terribly looking at election results on my phone feeling like I was completely in the twilight zone.
For as ugly as the gray/wood grain ones were, weren't those the uni's we won the MAC Championship in?

You are right now that I look back. Yes, we did win the championship in the ugly greys.

I can't picture them exactly, but I thought I liked the ugly greys.

They should have a "bronco stampede" uniform that we get to design each year. Except that I should get to make final call because I'm concerned that some of you would make it tacky. Lol.
