I wonder how many of those people (including the censors) have actually read Alex Jones instead of just repeating talking points. I've looked at the site more the last two days than I had cumulatively before. The Sandy Hook stuff sounds pretty obnoxious but I've never actually seen that story. But if obnoxiousness was a disqualifier, nobody from New York City would be allowed on the internet. Its part of their culture (see DJT and HRC).

Well, these companies have the right to banned anybody who those people violates their terms. I am waiting to see Donald J. Trump get purged from the social networks as well. Trump keeps violating Twitter's terms. The government can't interfere with your first Amendment Rights. The tech companies are not run by the government.

Well if they apply their terms unevenly they are not in a strong position.

But there is a difference with a restaurant. They are paying you. You aren't making money from selling their personal information. The tech companies are doing false advertising of what they are (at least what they are today).

I can honestly saw I've never clicked on Infowars willingly. I've clicked links in articles that took me there, without knowing. Other than what I've read on this board I couldn't tell you what that site is about.

While these companies are not the government and they are private. At some point even a private company should be held to the standards of the government when it comes to free speech. These companies are important and that has grown to a way of life for most Americans over the last 10 or so years. So I think at some point they are no longer just a "private company"

Unless laws have been broken or clear repeated major rules then we all should be concerned. I would say the same thing no matter which side of politics it fell on.

Today the Internet and these companies are viewed like the big 3 news networks of yesterday.

I don't disagree with you about Alex Jones being an obnoxious troll. I'm saying that if you're going to start banning someone based on "hate speech" or the fact you don't agree with their views, where will you stop? Because it's going to create a slippery slope. A slope most of us right-leaners and Constitutionalists don't want to go down. (And I'm sure you agree with me on that, too.)

These platforms have avoided defamation litigation by claiming they are simply a vehicle for interaction. By taking this action, they are now editors of content and forfeit that protection. Let the lawsuits commence.

Worse than all these outlets shutting down slimy scuzball Alex, almost half of Republicans (gotta be mostly TDS Trumpers) want to give Trump the power to shut down media and 48% believe the idiotic nonsense Trump spews about the media being the enemy of the people.

Seems we have bigger things to worry about than tweets and tubes.
