You couldn't be more wrong.

I accept that I'm wrong as I don't know, I'm expressing surprise based upon organizational experience i have had.

Numbers a few (less than 5) years old, but looks like football coaches were:

1x $265k
2x 85-90k
4x 55-63k
1x mid 40ks
4x 29-32k

RE: Jimmye’s Retirement
I know we like the idea of bringing someone with WM ties, but what about Will Heally, Austin PEay's coach? Turned a program from 0 wins to 8 wins in just 2 years. Super young guy, would provide the energy the position needs and does a great job getting students excited. He makes about 200 a year at APSU, so we'd need to offer probably around 300+ to snatch him away.

+1

It would, also, piss off a lot of the Richmond contingent who wish he was back home. Question is would he commit to his past rival school, knowing the rub.

Yeah, I agree, it would be a good choice.
Also, I believe $300,000 will be the target opening salary for the position. It will open us up to a slightly larger pool of candidates.

Not sure how much success Corley or London will have here. But, especially at the FCS level, it is all about bringing in stud athletes. The athletic difference between us and JMU was painfully evident. This is where both guys excel. I'd expect a real uptick in recruiting with either guy. Schemes and play calling are great, but it's all about the athletes.

Jimmye’s Retirement
This messageboard pretty much named the potential candidates. The talks have begun, you can bank on that. The several consultants advising Samantha Huge, I feel, are absolutely critical. I hope she pays close attention to what these Tribe Football experts offer.

You nailed it. This is the type of candidate we should pursue. He won’t be here for long; but he’ll set the stage for the future.

Jimmye’s Retirement
"Tomlin and McDermott" sent me an email today, encouraging me to donate money to Tribe Football in honor of Coach Laycock. Great idea.[Image: 24d1b53175e629e065c2ff1252b768aa.jpg]

Jimmye’s Retirement
On another note, I have a hunch London will return to UR next season and Corley will be walking Zable's sidelines.

RE: Jimmye’s Retirement
Nice article in the Washington Post by John Feinstein, who is a big supporter of the smaller, more academic schools:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/co...story.html

It does look there will be a very nice ceremony at the Richmond game.

It is the feature story with photos on the front sports page this morning.

John Feinstein, by the way, has a freshman daughter at W&M this fall.

When our MBB team makes the NCAA Tourney over the next year or two, Feinstein is gonna be all over it.

Great article about a greater man! Congrats Jimmye and that thought of hundreds of former players there for the final game is an incredible image to think about. What a legacy and impact!

Without a doubt. I can envision a Season on the Brink type of book following the break through season.

Some folks in my group noticed he was on the sideline last week.

Yeah, he was in town all weekend to shadow/talk with Jimmye for this article.

John was the first half-time interview I ever did on the William & Mary Network. He was covering American U. (that night's opponent) and was then working on Hard Courts, his book about Professional Tennis.

He is, in my opinion, a great guy. I always enjoyed chatting with him at the CAA Tournaments.
