Bet you had no issues watching the Cowboys with Greg Hardy or Michael Irvin.

Never forget the person making this issue about the flag and the troops got out of service 5 times with shin splints 5 times and once said “I don’t like people who get captured”

As someone who served nothing pisses me off more than someone who uses “the troops” or “he flag” as a means of control or fake forced patriotism.

As a veteran you can be Psed off all you want but just because you don't believe on what us that also served, concerning the flag, that's your right. I really don't care about their fake injustices that those entitled millionaires are kneeling for. Don't do it while at work. I know that as a firefighter and a veteran that I would be in a heap of trouble if I took it on myself to push political issues while at work. That's right, those players are at work. They get paid for producing like everyone that has a job. We can accept their stances outside of their job and perhaps some of us would even join their cause but keep it outside of your job.

You think because you served that your opinion has more weight than others that served too. Nah, I don't think so. As for McCain, he is not a hero. A hero is someone who goes far beyond his job description. For doing something that is not expected of him. He just happened, unfortunately, to have had his plane shot down as many pilots did. That he suffered sure, but many who came back from the war suffered too. People thank me for my service as if I was a hero but I'm not. I was only doing the job that I was trained to do, like McCain.

So you think because Trump didn't served that he cannot be a patriot. How many of those sniveling crybabies in the NFL actually served too but you think their protests are patriotic, not in my book.

But, as I said before, you're entitled to YOUR opinion, and that's all it is, PERIOD.

And just like any other job, we the public don't get to dictate the rules between employers and employees. And up until a couple of weeks ago it wasn't against the rules so the whole you're at work do it on your own time was a dumb argument. Now that the NFL has spoken, it's going to be interesting how this plays out this year.

When the public is the consumer of the product, they certainly have a say in the policies of the corporation. The public consumes the NFL's product. When the NFL ignores the will of a sizable faction of the football watching public, they risk hurting their bottom line.

Standing for the Anthem has been a set policy of the NFL. The league has just chosen not to enforce it. The NFL was looking to penalize teams when players don't stand. We will see what the league actually does, but the fact that the league is looking to resolve the issue implies that they understand they have upset a sizable segment of NFL fans, and they don't want another season of empty seats or bad press.

Oh, but i guess it's ok to "use" the flag the way the players are. Really dumb post.
Useing the flag to make a point about injustices is our society vs. guy who just yapps “support the troops” is different sorry you can not see that.

These NFL players are at their jobs, and their jobs have nothing to do with politics. They can go out and protest or demonstrate on their own time. Let football be about football.

I’m going to translate “Hey black guys go protest where we are not looking and it doesn’t make us (white people) feel uncomfortable.”

I'LL TRANSLATE FOR YOU, if I protest at my place of employment or at any company event, I'll be fired for doing as would employees of most companies. The NFL Players are at work and their company's "office" they should have to adhere to code of conduct required by their employer just like everyone else does, they are not special for any reason other than playing a game.

Correct, they're just disrespecting the flag and what it stands for, no other way to explain not showing respect for it during the anthem.

I agree, but their workplace doesn't have a rule like the others.

It's still the same. Including everyone yelling "OH" when that time comes.

Lame. Move my thread to the Political Page because of the typical “boycotter” who feels the need to continue to talk about what they’re boycotting.

Oh and for the other lame ass comments about “protesting during work time”. Have you never seen a walk out? A picket line? A work stoppage? Protests happen in the workplace all the time all across the country. I bet you don’t go up to those people and tell them to protest on their own time.

...yes, and they can get fired for that too, right? Why not in the NFL? "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" Plain and simple. Also, you can't find NFL athletic type talent in every corner but a regular job you can, and that's why they can get fired and sometimes do get fired.

This may be approaching the record for longest lasting manufactured outrage.
