If that's draining the swamp its draining its merely turning it into a open sewer.

I'd rather have Democratic do-nothings trying to determine what laws I have to live under than Marxists.

Never heard of this dumb commie broad. However, I am willing to entertain that:

A.) She comes from a well to do family
B.) Her dad was probably largely absent
C.) Her mom is a lush
D.) Has some real skeletons in her closet

If GOP holds the House in November, very strong possibility that all the top 3 Dems have to step aside from their leadership positions.

#1 Pelosi - California
#2 Hoyer - Maryland
#3 Clyburn - South Carolina

All of them have been calling the shots since 2002. Long time.

Plus, Crowley (who ranks #4) has now shockingly been defeated.

I don’t even know who their #5 is.

From a CNN story...

Ocasio-Cortez's own story begins in the Bronx, the same borough that, along with parts of Queens, delivered for her on primary day. She was born and raised there, the daughter of working class Puerto Rican parents -- her father born in the South Bronx (he died in 2008, while she was in college); her mother on the island -- she went on to study at Boston University and work in the the office of liberal lion Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts.

When she returned home, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a community organizer and, eventually, with economic stresses rooted in the recession and the loss of her father taking hold, began low-wage, long-hour work at restaurants to help support her family.

Sounds like no to 1 and 2. Who knows about 3 and 4. She did tweet out something about Cynthia Nixon this morning if that means anything.

I used to live in the Bronx (1971 to 77). When I was growing up as a kid there in the 'lovely' 1970's, that borough was 1/3 white, 1/3 hispanic and 1/3 black basically. Now it's 40 percent black, 40 percent hispanic and about 10 percent white. I'm shocked a white man would have been running unopposed in that district for years (although the district does encompass parts of Queens too which likely would have been much more white than the Bronx).

Sounds like the Democrat party's answer to Trump is to move further and further left. And elect more women. Which will likely leave us with Warren, Gillibrand or Harris in 2 years to run against Trump.

I'm assuming you are saying that they aren't going to lose their re-election campaigns but that there will be pressure for them to step down from their current posts?

Correct. They are 100% guaranteed to win re-election, but may be pressured to step down from their leadership-positions, *Unless* the Dems win 218+ seats in which case, they are golden.

When Crowley was given the district back in 1998 -- and I do mean it was given to him. Rigged even by NYC standards -- it was District #7 and had a majority-white population, based mostly in Queens and a little slice of the Bronx. The guy that Crowley replaced was the guy who replaced Geraldine Ferraro way back when. It was a semi-conservative area and Crowley gave a semi-conservative vibe. Cast a few symbolic anti-abortion votes, for example.

But in 2002, the redistricting process pushed the district further in Bronx. And then the 2012 redistricting pushed it even further. Crowley was able to use his status as the Dem-boss of Queens Co. to stave off challengers, but really the demographics of the district had moved in a drastically different direction.

Agreed. I'm not sure which of those 3 have the best chance, but a very high % it will be one of them, IMHO.

So part of the reason was due to racist voters?

What is more telling is that 28,000 voted out of 214,000 registered democrats.

Honestly I think he lost because he pulled a no-show at a debate. Talk about not caring about your constituents. As long as he has been in politics he should have easily been able to counter all of her hard left socialist campaign positions.
