I never said you were an idiot. But, if you took it that way, I won't argue with you.
You told all of us that we were. In any event, you are as accurate now as you were the last 2 years.
Nope. Wrong again.
I said...that Tubby did a pretty good coaching job (21 wins) and that I "think" that the new coach might struggle more than you realize. That's all. And, we'll see.
In the future, I'll type slower so you can hopefully comprehend my words more clearly.
Lol...This is funny and Ironic at the same time.
At least the majority of the thread was about the Tigers until now.
Aside from Tubby lover and the other guy, most understand that it should be a fun debate about two GREAT Tiger running backs.

It would seem that your definition of a "fun debate" and mine are polar opposite.
But, maybe I'm in the minority and most of the board enjoys reading your drivel?

I'm not surprised because the only things you seem to "contribute" are complaints (which is all you've done in this thread, nothing else) and defending Tubby and ridicule those that don't agree with you. I guess now that Tubby is gone, you feel embarrassed and that leaves only one thing for you to do.

As usual, the opposite of reality for Mr. -14. Except for you, racecarguy and oruvoice flaming, the thread has been positive about Henderson being a great back. Your negative fairy tale about the upcoming media deal was also easily shot down.

Ah...that explains a lot. You're the type of guy that derives a great deal of personal pleasure for your online message board "rating". Well, big congrats on your 900+ rating! That's super cool!! You must be so proud!!
But must say I was surprised to see that DH's 1st two years compared so well to Deangelo's. Don't think DH is the player that Deangelo was, but would love to be proven wrong.

I agree. To find anyone else to take part in the conversation you need to look at Dave Casinelli who was here in the early 60's or Curtis Steele or maybe Gerard Arnold. Another point that I made is that Henderson's longest run from scrimmage and his only run of over 30 yards his freshman season was 45 yards. Henderson improved dramatically; who is to say that he won't keep improving?
DeAngelo and Henderson can easily be identified as generational running backs; the top 2 in our history, especially through their first 2 seasons.
Interesting discussion. I don't think Darrel Henderson is as shifty as DeAngelo was. Henderson is incredibly fast, possibly faster than DeAngelo. But DeAngelo had this way of slipping through defenders and making incredible cuts to break free. You'd see him turn a corner plugged by multiple defenders and next thing you know he'd pop out on the other side for a monstrous gain.
I like Henderson a lot, but to be compared to DeAngelo he'll have to be even better next year and the year after. If he has a down year, then I don't even think you should have the discussion any more. But hey, maybe he'll have his biggest year yet and this discussion will get even more interesting.

Sorry, I did not introduce name calling and personal comments to the the thread. Since you keep bringing up my negative rating caused by 3 posters hitting me with -3, I looked at the details of your high rating. MULTIPLE +3s by a few posters. You certainly know how to work the system.
And I will reiterate my position on the question of this thread. DeAngelo has no comparable running backs in any two years of their career. As for the “amazing offensive line” he had, I recall many times when DeAngelo bounced off the line with no openings and reversed field (as he did many times) and made a negative play into a big gain.

I agree. Based on my own eye test, that's the big difference between the two. DeAngelo could turning nothing into a 60 yard TD run. If you give Henderson even a hint of space, he can hit the hole and be gone. But I don't necessarily think he has the ability DeAngelo had to slip tackles, cut back and make something out of nothing. Still a really good back though.

Probably the most ludicrous statement I’ve read on this forum this year.

On one hand, DeAngelo had more carries where he made yards out of nothing, where Henderson probably would have had little or no gain.
On the other hand, I think Henderson's insane speed took a lot of DeAngelo's 5-15 yards gains and broke them into long ones.
That IMO, is what makes the comparison so interesting. It is difficult to make the comparison if Henderson averaged 6 or 7 yards per carry, but c'mon, he averaged 9 yards per carry. That's insane.
Looking at their highlight videos, I am surprised how similar their running styles are. A lot of runs where they made one guy miss in the hole and then turned on the jets.
That UTEP run at 1:30 is still my favorite run of all time:
But man, I forgot just how fast Henderson is. Even more excited for football now:

Work the system? I haven't spent a single second working anything. Nobody liked you before and nobody likes you now. It's not complicated.

Neither are name calling or personal in Memphis I grew up in. Maybe be different in Montreal. All the plus 3s for your great posts and meticulous grammar huh?

DeAngelo Video
I don't think Henderson is capable of avoiding the first tacklers or changing direction as quickly as DeAngelo and gaining much yardage at the 1:18, 1:33, 1:56 and 3:23 marks.
Henderson Video
I don't think DeAngelo is capable of breaking away as quickly as Henderson at the :14, :33, 1:00, 1:23 and 3:01 marks. I think for DeAngelo the 80 yard UCLA run and the last two mentioned are 20-25 yard gains.

Great post! Excellent videos (and it's very easy to get excited about this years team!!)
What's funny is that this whole debate started over the statement that to compare the two is the most ludicrous statement on the board this year.
