RE: MTSU Losing Players
It looks like a rough upcoming season for MTSU after enjoying success in recent years. They will bounce back and I hope it occurs soon because MTSU is my other alma mater.

There are alot of good hoops coaches in this league. I’m not convinced there won’t be another team or two emerge as a contender.

In my opinion, Marshall & WKU are the top 2 teams headed into the season, but they’re not the only 2 teams with a shot at it. UNT won the CBI & returns everyone, UTSA had its moments last year, LA Tech can’t be consistently bad right? What about ODU? ????

Until and utsa should both be pretty good, but Marshall and WKU are on a different tier imo.
Odu has little post talent, so while they may fired a decent squad I don't see them being a contender for the league title. I honestly don't know anything about la techs team so can't comment.
Usm could be a dark horse if they return much of last year's team.

It's been mentioned elsewhere but it would be cool to have an in-state tournament featuring MT, Memphis, UTK, Belmont, Vandy, and Lipscomb.

Johnson being kicked off is a massive blow. Best returning player. With the Marshall guys back he probably doesn't win POY but is top 3 or 4 next year.
Huge blow. MT won't win 10 games this season.

Well the world is right again.....
Middle only having football to look forward to and Western only basketball. One saving grace is that in CUSA its not that hard to turn it back around over a couple years. In either sport

If we win 15 games I will be happy. Growing pains, but Nick is a great coach that will get us winning again. Not expecting the levels we have been, but 20 win seasons shouldnt be too rare after long.

Agree, it could rotate between Memphis,Nashville, and Knoxville with Nashville getting two games for every game at Memphis and at Knoxville. Perhaps add two other State schools off and on (e.g., UT-Martin, ETSU, etc).....

clt recommends hosting the tourney in Asheville.

RE: MTSU Losing Players
MTSU fan may not like life after Kermit.....This situation has a feel similar to what we have experienced with WKU football.....Coaches like Davis and Brohm has program rolling, young new guy comes in and changes everything and it crumbles.....I just cannot see this new guy having program rolling like Kermit did anytime soon....For CUSA's sake I hope I am wrong, I want to beat MTSU at their best not worst...In meantime though I will gladly take a 30 point beatdown this season.....

I would prefer the high school gym at Mason City IA. That way I could make all the sessions. :)

USM will return all but one backup walk on point guard. We have 7 players coming in including 6 freshmen and a 6'7 and a 6'9 JC player who red shirted last year. The 5 freshmen are potentially (read -we hope) the most talented we have ever signed as a group -three 6'7 forwards and a 6'5 point guard and a 6'2 point guard. All the freshmen are very talented and can really shoot. One of the forwards was measured at a 47" vertical leap as a high school freshman. Problem is they are freshmen. Tough to know how the team will be with adding 7 players. At least we will have more height.
