One of LA Tech's most exciting and electric players of all-time was kick returner Phillip "Saturday Night" Livas . In this clip, Livas returns a kickoff 97-yds for a TD in LA Tech's 2008 Indy Bowl win over Northern Illinois on national TV, in front of 45K Bulldog fans.

It was very loud, very cold, but also very exciting. Enjoy:

Attending that game was what got me to start really supporting my alma mater.

For basketball, Speedy Smith's shot in the NIT game against Iona.

For football, Bad Chad Boyd destroying LSU's Terrance Tolliver.

Tech defeats Michigan St. in 2003

Can't find a video clip, but Tech came back and beat a Les Miles coached Oklahoma State football team in 2002. The game was played in Shreveport and Tech came back from a 4th quarter deficit of 36 to 25 to beat Okie St. 36 to 39.

Tech vs Oklahoma St.

Even though we lost, I thought this catch by Dennis Morris, against #7 Boise St. was awesome!

And one of my favorite games ever in Ruston. Tech beats #17 Fresno St. in 2004 thanks to Ryan Moats.

1996 Womens Olympic Dream Team exhibition against Lady Techsters

The Dream Team comprised of Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes, Rebecca Lobo, Jennifer Azzi, Dawn Staley. It was the equivalent of the 1992 Men's Dream Team. Imagine that team playing a Mens Collegiate team. The Womens Dream Team had already beat UCONN 83-47, Tennessee 82-58, Colorado 107-24, Old Dominion 97-40

The Techsters lead part of the first half, halfway through the second half the Techsters take the lead only to have a charge called against them. Leon Barmore, in true form, takes off his jacket and throws it across the floor and the sold out crowd goes nut.

Needless to say, the Lady Techsters gave the Dream Team by far it's closest test of their exhibition tour losing by 9 points 85-74.

The Techsters went on to lose the in the National Championship game against UNC by a last second shot

That was the best women's basketball game I've ever seen. I think Coach Barmore might have legitimately had a "heart attack" that game. I know he passed out on the sideline. The TAC was rocking that night! I like to think we helped Team USA win a gold medal that year. Lord knows we gave them the best game, including the Olympics that year.

My favorite was the Dennis Morris catch jumping above the defender then reaching over the defender to catch the ball behind the back of the defender for a TD. But the most satisfying was the 99 yard run by Dixon against the Cajuns. We were expected to get beat bad. The Cajun coach had the audacity to invite all of our recruits to ULL to watch the game. We broke their backs on that one play and went on to win the game easily. I don't think we lost any of our recruits to them.

Hard to choose. In football I think this might be my favorite. Willie Taggart makes the ballsy call to go for two in OT AT UK. This is the win that really started the upward trajectory that culminated in Brohm's two CUSA titles. No way to overstate what this win meant to me as a WKU football fan. We were not far removed from a WINLESS season. WKU had never beaten UK in football and only two years before UK had hung 63 on us. I had dreamed idly for years that we would go "1A" and be on a level playing field with the cats. My Dad once told me that it would never happen. And yet there it was:

And since this is the ten year anniversary of THE SHOT from Ty Rogers (OT buzzer beater with a trip to the sweet 16 on the line):

Then there is Courtney Lee's dunk on SIU:

Tyrone Brazelton's FULL COURT SHOT against FAU (were any of you FAU fans at that game?):

Darius Thompson's no-look pass this year was one of the best passes I have ever seen but I am not finding video of it.

This hit by Andrew Jackson, although just one defensive stop, reigns in my mind. He absolutely de-cleated the RB for UK.

This game clinching play featured all five Blue Raiders touching the ball...

Giddy Potts blocks three point shot and steals the ball

This. Also, Diego's huge 3 pointer against the Tar Holes to force OT in the 2nd round of 1998 NCAA tourney.

Another would be Chad Kinch posterizing the All-American from #1 ranked Michigan in the 1977 NCAA Final Four Run.

That's a GREAT play to! WOW! Against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, no less. Again on national TV.

I think I'm seeing a pattern here: When LA Tech was in the WAC, the Bulldogs used to play on national TV a lot more than we do today in CUSA.

Unfortunately, Skip Holtz would N-E-V-E-R call a trick play like that. But Derek Dooley did. You gotta respect that.

I just now realized, that Dennis Morris was the key playmaker in TWO (2) of these all-time great plays. Morris made this catch above against LSU, AND he made the incredible catch against Boise State. WOW!

Yes. That "Dennis Morris" catch against Boise St was also on National TV, Wednesday night game I think, and was against Kyle Wilson, a guy who ended up playing 7 years in the NFL for the NY Jets and New Orleans Saints.
