Not necessarily. See Bill Blankenship, Tulsa. Went 8-5 his first year. Then 11-3 the 2nd. And then was 3-9, and 2-10 his last two years.

Yeah that's what I was getting at. What's better for the AAC: getting a P5 win or avoiding a G4 loss.

In a vacuum, yes beating Wake is better than beating UNT. But in this hypothetical, beating Wake means losing to UNT. And a loss to any CUSA team hurts the AAC's perception as "best of the rest"
