RE: Trustees to consider contracts for...
I have not seen the $$$$ amounts on these contracts - or did I just miss it?

What was the amount/percentage increase of any raises?

Was the cost to UAB of the potential buyout increased ? If so by how much?

Sorry but I am a bean counter

IMHO a extension without raise or increased buyout is just simply a PR device to keep potential recruits happy

I forgot Ehsan initially signed a five year contract. Probably should have waited one more year to do anything there.

Ingram is what it is. Everything appears to be going well under his watch although he has probably done more to hamper progress than help it.

Norton deserves it.

How has Ingram hampered progress? Everyone says it. No one offers any tangible proof.

I just tend to believe the people on here who actually talk to him and the coaches. Maybe he just isn’t liked and he can’t be responsible for anything positive in the eyes of some? Not my issue.

If you were new to UAB and had to take a look at these positions from the outside, there is no reason in the world to think you wouldn’t give him an extension.

Maybe he hasn’t hampered progress, but it makes my blood boil every time Watts (and the media) talk about him bringing football back and spearheading the fundraising efforts.

You’re about to get told how wrong you are, but without any evidence as to why.

Sorry but I agree with all the extensions. I may want Ingram gone but the best way for him to go is to take credit for everything. We all know the truth. I support the HCRE extension. It's no extra money and it is common practice for recruiting purposes. Why would you hinder the coach? Isn't it best for him to be successful? If not we can make the necessary change. Lighten up Francis. We have a great recruiting class and I can't wait to tip it off. RN was a no brainier.

BTW all this negative BS on social media is stupid. Even coach Clark brought it up.

He made the mistake of not immediately sacrificing his job by calling for the firing of his boss

One wouldn't expect Watts to dump Ingram anyway.
Might as well laugh & try and use it to your advantage.

Ingram will be forced to live up to the increased expectations.

What move is that? I was thinking a big(ish) reason for Ingram being around was to work on the Temple connection. It's not just about the stadium and improving sports but about who you know. Doesn't seem like it hurts to have connections with a school in a conference you're trying to get into.

Temple connection...as in: turning down home & homes with them in FB and MBB because we can't compete with them? THAT Temple connection?

Two more: Thursday night.

I talked to him about bball scheduling, suggested Samford and/or Jax St., and he said sometimes coaches don't like going against local teams or if they know someone. I get that, it's the excuse Auburn and Alabama like to use for not playing Troy, South or UAB. But it's interesting to find out that Ingram has the same issue.

Not a fan of Savannah State but I'm way more into the Thursday night thing than others on here seem to be. Thursday night game before the season, while barners and bammers are still desperate for college football, I think it's a smart move. I've said this a lot elsewhere but Bham is the #1 college football market, and not just when Auburn and Alabama are on. I hope UAB caters to that to get exposure and grow the fanbase.

RE: Trustees to consider contracts for...
Well, if you’re trying to cater to fans in this state. Dont play fcs teams at all, really. Don’t play Thursday games against unranked teams that aren’t conference rivals in good position to win conference divisions or titles. Don’t kickoff at 6 o’clock. Don’t kickoff(or tip off) at 8 o’clock. This game has no opportunity to be picked up for tv.

They’ll have an sec game likely kickoff at 6 or 7 on espn, probably a better sunbelt or aac matchup start on espn 2 followed by an acc game. Then a pac 12game to close out the evening. nobody legit watches fox sports or cbs sports network on this night, but I’m sure they’ve filled that with better games than UAB/Savannah State in an empty legion field at possibly 6pm.

Now, give a good reason why this game for opening weekend isn’t setup to be an absolute attendance disaster. Just because we’re in the top tv market for CFB doesn’t mean they are even willing to stay home and watch us for free, Savannah State doesn’t even bring interest. More annoyance that this game would be an option for those particular ppl to watch than anything.
