Would say why, but Ehsan will have a brand new team. No problem asking why for Ingram though.

If Ingram can show he’s willing to make some moves when they need to be made or at
least considered. Soccer, Baseball, softball....

Keep in mind that it is much easier to evaluate coaches whose players all have full ride scholarships than those who must decide which players will get text books, who gets room and/or board, who gets tuition, etc. to none of the above. It is kind of like a HR manager having to decide which company employees will work for 30%, 50% or 70% of full pay for the same work.

How in the world is Ehsan being considered for an extension? I’m seriously asking....

Seems like another attempt by the BOT to hold UAB down.

Coaches with fewer than 4 yrs left on contract are at a serious recruiting disadvantage. You can't promise a kid you'll be there for him when your contract says otherwise. That's why most fired coaches still have money owed to them...

I’ve been one of Ehsan’s biggest critics (if not the biggest) but he deserves a shot with his own players.

A coach named Bryant once said that a coach's contract was mainly for the protection of the school's administration giving them cover when a coach has disappointing results. They can "hide" behind costs of firing (buyouts and such) in order to have more time for making the hard decisions.

RE: Trustees to consider contracts for... - the_blazerman - 05-05-2018 08:08 PM

& a coach named Curry once said "I'm outta here"

Since we have all been blissfully happy with every coach UAB has hired to date, you are spot on as usual.

Bryant Vincent really needs to concentrate on overhauling the offense and leaving that sort of statement to the head coach.

Bill Curry was perceptive enough to know that when coming off a 9-2 season that when the newly hired AD ("Hootie" Ingram) informs you that your new contract will have no raise and a greatly reduced "buy out", your time at Bama is probably limited. Added to that the fact that Bama's BOT had already demoted the President (Joab Thomas) and fired the AD ("family" Steve Sloan) who had hired him.

It is often called "reading the hand writing on the wall".

RE: Trustees to consider contracts for... - legalblazer - 05-07-2018 01:50 PM

I thought Curry quit over the Legion Field stadium seat certificates?
