Right - Houston got buzz in '16 because they went 13-1 in '15, beating FSU in Peach Bowl (but they had a blemish).
Now the fact that an AAC team has to have a two year run (and not lose their coach in between) to have a chance is evidence of un-level field, granted.

Houston was 13/15 in preseason polls. After beating Oklahoma, they moved up to 5/6 before Navy beat them. Even then, Houston only fell to 11/11 in the polls - probably because Navy had a little cachet having gone 11-2 the year prior and losing only to AF before the Houston game. Had the Coogs not lost AGAIN in conference before beating #5(CFP)/3/3 Louisville, they would have been in the conversation.

If you're saying we are disadvantaged because we have to have a two year run AND top 5 opponents to be in the conversation, well...
