Mueller would have a tough row to hoe. Meaning that he could subpoena Trump, however the legalities of it could go to the Supreme Court to decide if it was legal.
Nixon was subpoenaed but he was no longer the president and had a pardon in hand IIRC.
I think the way I understood is that Mueller can subpoena for documents, which he has and he can subpoena only if he can prove criminal intent I could be wrong and hopefully one of the lawyers here can correct me.
w/o looking it up, they've already turned over 1 MILLION documents......as opposed to the DOJ releasing what has been requested by congress.....
what a CF all this bs is.....
It was alot of documents.
The Mueller threat of subpeoning Trump is an empty threat.
He could but DJT's lawyers would refuse and the SCOTUS would make the ruling if he had to answer questions or not.
I'm sure there's more to it, I'm just simplifying it.
Just look at the aides in the other thread it appears that Mueller and crew are running these people into financial ruin to get the confession they want and it's not happening. Personally if I was being run through the ringer and losing my ass I'd be singing. But they're not. So either they're loyal or there's nothing there.

I think doing that would provoke Trump to fire Mueller and right now that's the only move Mueller has is to get fired so he can say he wasn't done or closing in.

How do you know what his evidence is?
Be very specific.....
You guys don’t even hold yourselves to any standard. You don’t know.
We know he has no evidence. All the evidence of this supposed "crime", which occurred nearly 2 years ago, and was investigated while it was "ongoing" by 17 intelligence agencies of the federal government under the control of a hostile administration (Obama)---has been sitting on his desk since he was named special counsel. Yet they have investigated for more than a year and filed no charges---despite having electronic survellience on key members of the Trump campaign during the period in which the "crime" was allegedly committed. Now we have had another year of investigation by a special counsel Mueller, who has assembled some of the most ethically challenged Trump hating members of the justice department to create a witch burning hit squad--and yet---with access to all the evidence the Obama administration handed them, along with raids of Manforts home and Cohens office---have still been unable to charge a single member of the Trump campaign with a crime actually related to the campaign.
Now it seems, the Mueller investigation wants to get Trump, against his will, under oath in a hot box environment. Why? If they have enough evidence to prosecute, then go get your indictment. The bar for a indictment is incredibly low in a Grand Jury room. There is no need to get the suspect under oath prior to charging him. Thats virtually never done and would be an extremely unusual action by a prosecuter.
Muellers own actions tell me Mueller has nothing. My guess is he is now desperate to find something to show for his contemptuous, costly, and divisive investigation. His last shot is to "Ken Starr" Trump. I suspect Meuller has uncovered enough embarrassing material that he figures he can catch Trump, as he tries to evade being embarrassed, saying something that could trigger a perjury charge. If Meuller just wants to clear up a few things---then he doesnt need the president under oath to do that. No---Mueller wants Trump under oath---which is a huge flashing neon sign indicating what Mueller wants and why he needs it (because he has nothing else).

that's specifically well stated!
Mueller doesn't want to be remembered as another political pawn that failed to produce....
these people are slime at the highest level....
it's disgusting how we run 'business' at that level.....
they collectively simply cannot handle his business savvy.......it's 'why the allure' out of the gate and his effective staying power.....
I'll just say it one more time.....ol' boy changed the game....
