Let's not get ahead of ourselves. One game at a time....and this might be my last game seeing this team (and Ford and Ryan) in person, unless they make it to Biloxi and I decide to make the trip in honor of our departing players and, of course, The OG.

A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. But it is still 1000 miles to get to the desired destination. Let’s take step one today.

And thanks, Walt, for the support you give the team and the information you give us fans.

Does "RADIANT" describe the Reckling weather this morning?

(It looks bright and sunny on the video stream.)

"No other broadcaster in Rice baseball history can say this fact: On the last two Sundays, the Rice Owls are zero, zero and two."

Proctor made a good play to get to the leadoff bouncer up the middle, but the speedy Charlotte runner just beat out his on-target throw.

Then a foul popup to Sarchet, popup to Proctor and a routine 6-4 fielder's choice groundout force at second. Yay!!

Two fly balls and a 6-3 grounder.

Their starter had an ERA over 5. How kind of us to help him rehabilitate it.

Nice running catch by Gneiting to get the T3 second out. It was just fair and he snagged it just before running into the fence where it juts out, bracing himself against and rocking nearly over the (thankfully) padded chest-high top railing.

Sarchet on with a shot into RF. Gneiting safe at 1st on a bunt that appears to have surprised the infield.

"A picture-perfect bunt."

(Rendon would not have been surprised. :-) )

Proctor flies out (runner on 2nd with 1 out has that effect); Chandler walks. Bases loaded for Cruz.

Chandler patiently takes a walk on 3-1 pitch high.

"Bases loaded for Cruz!"

Called strike - Highish curve.
Ball - low & inside
Ball - Curve low
Ball - Just above the letters, high
RBI BALL! - Low, inside & in the dirt!

1-0, Rice. Bases still loaded. 2 outs.

"Big Dunnie's" AB:

Called strike - slow curve.
Ball - maybe a little high or outside.
Pulls outside pitch foul to the left side.
Good pitch bounced right at SS: Routine 6-4 forceout to end the inning.
