Run walks in on four pitches. Tying run on 3rd.

I just cannot understand why we pulled Moss when we did. He was cruising along and just because he gives up a single in the 8th we pull him. It’s truly mind blowing.

I'm surprised Jefferies is still in there. He doesn't seem ready to be pitching in back-to-back games.

If Moss transferred, I really couldn't hold it against him.

I’ve never seen anything like what we do. Literally the most embarrassing spectacle I’ve ever seen.

And then the trigger finger becomes paralyzed and Jeffries is left in for... too long.

6-4. Charlotte.
2 out.
Well, at least we’re consistent.

He'd thrown a lot of pitches, and it's a hot day. Leaving him in would be abusive.

All Acker had to do was pitch to contact. Should have been easy.

At least Leebron is there to witness how terrible our men’s sports are. This has all gone down under his watch. Imagine 10 years ago we’d be losing a home baseball series to our conference mate Charlotte 03-puke

Charlotte brings in a repeat too - Pinkley.

He comes out throwing fastballs down the middle. Cruz, F8.

T9, cont'd:

WAY HIGH and inside. Collins lunges and reaches, but can only barely touch it will his mitt. Wild pitch!! Runner to 2nd. GRRR!

Next pitch is high, but much less so.

"Hampton on deck. He's their best player, you really don't want to face him."

Next pitch is lashed down the 3B line. RBI single! GRRR!

4-2, Rice.

Hampton called back by hitting coach. "It's a quick pat on the back. And Howdy-doo!"

Curve ... called strike on outside corner. Nice!
Curve ... lowish, hit foul. Defensive swing.
0-2 pitch "Owls fans clapping yet again to get this much needed series win." Curve, bounces just in front of Collins.

"Pressure is a privilege"

1-2 pitch ... fouled off the end of the bat.

> Ball. Way outside.

2-2 pitch: Curve .. low ... looped into center field. ARRRGH.

"Mims has been on base three straight times. A world of speed, Hampton, on first."

Mims ... a high chop to Comeaux. He has to wait for it to come down -- another one like that -- first a strike to first. But JUST late. Bases loaded!! ARRGH!!

"All of this has happened with two outs."

"Yett is 4-for-5 with the bases loaded."

> Curve ... called low (looked pretty darned good);
Curve low, in the dirt!
Collins comes to the mound to chat. Fastball low and outside, also in the dirt. 3-0 count!!!
"You can feel the tension here at Reckling Park."
High & outside. Ball 4!!! Run scores!

4-3, Rice

Ober becomes the 9th batter to come to the plate in this 9th inning!

>THIS curve is finally a strike!

Line drive to right field. "Hanging up and Gneiting can't get it." Two runs score! "The ball got loose on the right side ... and Yett comes in to score."

ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Six run inning, all scored after two were out.

6-4, Charlotte.

Parthasarathy coming in.

1-0 pitch grounder to Sarchet. 3U.

"Now the Owls have some comeback ball to do."

6-4, Charlotte ... heading to B9.

Agreed.
I’m not sure how we characterize this season’s team. We’re not devoid of talent, but we have consistently failed to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat. Or victory from the jaws of victory. It’s been a total free fall.
From my perspective it’s like we are sleepwalking. Unaware. Not in the game.
Unlikely we will make the post season. At this point, maybe not all that bad.
Start fresh next season.

Comeaux pops foul to 1b. It's up to DiCaprio.

B9:

> Cruz: 0-1 pitch flyout to deepish center. Sigh.

> Cox: 2-2 pitch lined down the LF line ... bounces off the jutting-out fence. Double!

> Comeaux is the tying run!

First pitch foul fly near the Bixby Barn & Roost.
Pitch is shoulder high ... fouled high (natch) to first baseman. Two outs.

> DiCaprio:

Ball, low ... in the dirt.
Fastball inside.
Wiff!
2-1 count ... popup foul into the right-side stands.

"The Owls down to their last strike."

Line drive to deepish left field ... but right at the left fielder.

Charlotte wins, 6-4 ...and the series.

As we've learned too often this year, a good, even great 8 innings does not a game make.

"We'll be back for the unhappy totals." I won't.

Grrrr.

1-4-1 during a homestand when our fate is on the line.

Tells you all you need to know about the direction of this team.
