So of those, it seems like only the Redhawks play their Men's Hockey on the ice and their Women's Hockey on the grass/astroturf.
I remember when we were living in Oz and the boys came home all excited, "They play hockey in Newcastle!" I told them to check out whether it was ice hockey or field jockey (guessing the answer, since the bus I usually caught to get to the train station went be the fields). They came back the next day, dejected, "It's field hockey."

This will save the Valley's auto bid by getting it back to 6 teams (that's good!). It will also drop the MAC to only 5 teams and put it on the path to losing its AQ in fall 2023 (that's bad!)
The MAC will try to get its numbers back up to six, somehow, but I have no idea what school it would possibly be available. They made a big deal about not wanting to have multi-division affiliates when they let Hartwick go, and no Hartwick is playing in Division III, so they are no longer an option.
Since the Sunbelt is sitting at 6 and now losing a team, one option would be to merge with a Northern and Southern division ... AFAIR, you don't need a full conference round robin if you have a double round robin in each division, so there might be a divisional double round robin and four cross division games, so there'd only be two of the longer cross division trips each year.
That'd mean bringing Howard along for the ride to balance out the numbers, but you wouldn't want to drop either WVU or Central Arkansas from a merged soccer conference if you could help it. More extreme would be four school divisions and bring along only one affiliate into the Southern division, but whether it would be WVU or Central Arkansas would be a tough call.
