It is actually a dumb system. Basically if you had 1 seed every season and you didn't make the Final Four you would be ranked really low on the list. I am not saying Mick is a great post season coach but he is probably somewhere in the middle You have to give a coach some credit for making the tournament every season. Overall NCAA record is 6-8 at UC (6-10 overall). 5-0 against mid pack power five teams 1-0 against a low major and 0-8 against everyone else. Its the 0-4 mark against the super mid-major that has really hurt UC.

Going back Mick's teams used to really struggle in Big East and AAC tournament at first. UC didn't have a conference tournament win until Lance showed up. Even the 2011 team was destroyed in their second Big East tournament game by 30. We all know that UC lost three conference tournament games in a row to UConn before winning 5 out of the 6 games AAC tournament games including this years championship. I tend to view tournament play as part coaching and part randomness. It seems like Cronin's teams have improved their conference tournament luck maybe the NCAA tournament is next.

I think Mick's conference tournament performance the past couple years has a lot to do with UConn and Memphis being terrible, and SMU having a whopping 6 players physically able to take the court.

5-1 with two trips to finals and one championship is still very good no matter how bad UConn or Memphis has played the last two years. It isn't like they are playing these games on UC's home court or that the other teams aren't desperate to save their season. If you believe UC had an easy road then you have to give credit for a 32-4 conference record the last two years and earning both a 1 seed and 2 seed in the AAC tournament. 61 wins over the last two isn't an accident. The only thing missing is the deep run in the tournament. Some fans will never be happy unless the season results in a deep run in March Madness. I rather take the entire year into context and give credit and blame where it is due. I almost want a win next year over Ohio State and Xavier more than I want a Final Four. Those types of games are huge for the program. So was the spotlight this March against Wichita State and Houston.

And I want sex from an 21 year old beauty but I think both of us have little chance.

The top of the list is littered with coaches who have had number 1 seeds many times. Coach K, Roy Williams, Rick Pitino, etc... doesn't change the fact that Mick Cronin has sucked in postseason play.
