Anyone care to guess as to the number they get? The higher the better as it should bode well for the American I would think.

it's not much of a version of netflix if you're still going to have to be a main espn subscriber before you can even pay them $5 for a month for plus. you only need a broadband connection to subscribe to netflix.

They were getting $100,000 each. I'll guess a bid $111,000. (Price is Right rules)

ESPN Plus? I assume they’re just gonna throw on the ESPN3 content on there? I won’t subscribe just based on principle.

Considering the MAC went from 120k to 670k I am going to guess 470k is the new sun belt deal.

True. But it is a way to get more value for your content. Essentially, they have value to the pay service because they know there are enough loyal SB fans who will pay to see their schools play. Basically, the SB provides guaranteed subscribers. The reality is the vast majority of SB games are on ESPN3, so the exposure factor probably isnt much different than the current arrangement. I suspect they will still get a handful of ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPN-News windows--mostly on weeknights (basically, same as they do now).

One more thing to consider, if the new ACC Network ends up being a re-purposed ESPN-News, there could be a lot fewer ESPN windows that need filling. That might mean ESPN would like to use AAC content to drive subscribers to ESPN-Plus. For us, that kind of traditional TV exposure change would be a major loss--and frankly, should be a deal breaker.

Only if the SunBelt and MAC had a gridiron challenge so we could still get to play you in football.

Not saying the AAC should do this, but it seems the AAC would be the perfect anchor for Football on ESPN+. It would make sense for ESPN to offer more dollars than to be on the linear network since this would be a higher risk with higher reward. Again, I doubt the AAC would want do this. However, if it was a success, it would be huge in proving the AAC is a money maker and Power 6 they are trying to show.
