RE: 2/26 Rankings
Tulane played four games against ECU and USF and split them (lost to both at home somehow). If ECU and USF were 150, Tulane would be about 125 or so I bet. That just shows you the impact. They have to do a better job of scheduling and winning in the non con. The games are out there. Instead of Campbell or North Florida, schedule a .500ish MAC school and beat them. Play George Mason instead of NC A&T.
This year was the first year I thought Tulane really scheduled smarter in non conference, and it helped. We played: 2 ACC, 1 A-10, 1 MWC, 1 MAC, 2 Sun Belt, 2 Southland, 2 SWAC, and 1 NEC. So that is 5 easy wins, but we also went 4-1 against the SBC, MWC, A-10, and MAC. That one loss in that group was to #139 GA State on the road... not good, but not a back breaker. As a result, we have only won 5 games in the league, but are still rated higher than Iowa, Northwestern, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Illinois, etc. so not only are we not anchoring the the AAC, we wouldn’t be the bottom team in pretty much any of the P5 leagues. And much of that is scheduling a little smarter (the two top 50 wins help a little too).
