Willie Jackson's Play
Despite the two game losing streak, the play of Willie Jackson has been a positive development since his return from injury. Going up against two of the better Front Courts in the MAC (Ball State’s Teague & Moses and EMU’s Thompson & Minnie), the 6-6 Jackson did his part battling underneath with a combined 20 points and 22 rebounds with 8 of them being offensive rebounds. While he needs to improve on finishing plays around the basket, his continued improved scoring/rebounding production and hustle plays can only help the Rockets as they come down the home stretch of the regular season and into the Post Season. In addition, he will have two years of eligibility remaining to continue his development as an all around player!

RE: Willie Jackson's Play
Last game, there seemed a rash of can't hit within 5 feet of the basket. Is that possible a team mind meld? Maybe what we really need is an exorcist?

Nice to have WJ back. My gut as I was watching, he's not quite on the same page but that's the same feeling I get when Adway is in. Can't question either player's work ethic. Beastly.

Hopefully with everyone back, in game and in practice, it will lead to just that tiny bit more coordination that puts them over the hump. Sometimes it seems that they are SO close to zoning as a team for an entire game, five fingers on the same glove. Hoping the coaches can get those last bits of inches before tournament.

RE: Willie Jackson's Play
Jackson seems like an older player considering he's played for 2 D1 teams and been a name for a while, but he's only played about 20 games of college basketball split between 3 periods separated by a transfer and an injury, overall, less than some of the freshmen on UT's team. He's still finding his way around the court and how to fit in.

He should have fresher legs than anyone else on the floor in Cleveland

Happy to have him back. high energy and a helluva rebounder. But man his offense is bad. We need to spend a couple hours in practice throwing him bounce passes. And I am pretty sure our lowest percentage shot this year is Jackson and Adway going for a dunk.
