Saunders will likely play straight away with Littleson and Hill and we’ll probably need Smiths inside game with loss of Fletcher. Smith could RS but I see him active for 2019. Guys -what are your thoughts about possibility that T J Smith could be a RS?

The key class is replacing Sanford, Navi, and Adway for 2020!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Rockets!

Have we confirmed that TJ Smith is coming? I recall some questions since Saunders announced, as the thought was we only had 1 scholly to give and in theory that was taken by Smith? So, either someone's leaving (and the coaching staff knows), or TJ Smith isn't coming, or we were incorrect and had that 2nd scholly to give?

If TJ Smith does arrive here, I think a redshirt year would help him adjust. We'll still have Knapke & Adway, and W Jackson, Navigato, Gordon & then Logan Hill...plenty of bodies for the 3, 4 & 5 spots. If he's talented, no sense burning a season with him on the bench most of the time.

My bigger concern is who replaces Fletcher, both tangibles & intangibles.

And I agree: losing Sanford, Navigato & Adway will be big, particularly after losing Fletcher.

smith is a verbal commit but should be eligible and has been clear on his intent to be a rocket.

It's not unusual for the Rockets or other teams to have more verbals than they have room for. Someone on the current roster will not be back. Given current transfer trends, it's likely that at least one player will choose not to return. If not, then the coaching staff will decide which player's scholarship should not be renewed.

Mark Williamson
36 pts. I can't read. Don't judge me

@gnganinja
Hands down I'm definitely going to Toledo to watch Keshaun Saunders @itsLanX next year after watching tonight's 41 pts

He was shooting the lights out today, even before game time, he went…

The April 11th Signing Period can't come soon enough as the "verbal" committed Saunders continues his high level of play! Hopefully, a Major Program doesn't come calling before then!

he was being recruited by some major programs and said (i paraphrase and extrapolate) his major decision was if he wanted to go to a "major" school and maybe be just another recruit on a stacked roster in a big place or if he wanted to go "mid-major" and be a recruit the staff and program really values. he made a conscious decision to be a "mid-major" recruit. and he also wanted to stay closer to home (ontario) and toledo ends up being a good fit there too. who, knows, tomorrow he gets an offer from ucla and immediately switches his commitment, but it sounds like toledo felt like the perfect school for who he is. the best thing about him is probably how fervent some of his fans are. some folks really rave about him. he probably has some weaknesses to his game but he's obviously converted basketball folks into radical adherents.
