2018 Roster
New roster is out. There is some attrition. I think the two main ones that I've found are DT Nick Matich and OT Elliot Jordan. I have a feeling both young man are set to graduate or have graduated.

RE: 2018 Roster
Matich was a contributor, but possibly only because of injuries. Williams, Aguirre and others were hurt, and Matich shared time with Turner at DT while Clark was at NG. I feel like Nick never lived up to his full potential. I really liked him coming out of HS.
Jordan was never going to see the field, unfortunately. Too much talent at that position. Beavers, Moton, Okorafor, Novoselsky, Kanz, Dellinger and now Reed.
Good luck to both of them! I wish them well.
NEW ADDITIONS:
In for the spring are QB Kaleb Eleby and CB Keni-H Lovely. Transfers are DB Andrew Trost (Mount Union), WR Cam Cooper (Butler), and TE Wade Buckman (Purdue). Also have a new walk-on DB from St. Joseph HS, Sean Akins.
I watched HS tape on Andrew Trost, and I was impressed. Very fast, athletic DB. I'm surprised he didn't get more looks coming out of HS. But he spent a year in that great Mount Union program. Since 1993, Mount Union has appeared in 20 DIII national championship games, winning 13 of them. Since 1984, Mount Union has a record of 413-26, including 12 undefeated seasons.
Cooper will compete for a KR/PR spot. That was his specialty as a true frosh at Butler.

Derrick Mitchell is gone. We have a redshirt punter now. That could be a 5th year transfer spot.

We got a top tier punter in the class of 2018. Nick Mihalic.

Nick earned his undergraduate degree, had one more year of eligibility, and decided to forgo that and take a great job offer.

Great to hear he earned a great job from his scholarship. That's what it's all about. Battled a lot of injuries while here. Always seemed to be a team guy and a great Bronco.

So freshman punter for 2018? I'll bet Lester is looking for experience. Very tough schedule next season

Good for him! Like seeing our players graduate and get good jobs. Great reflection on the program and the kid.

Actually, I think the schedule next year is one of the most favorable we have had in recent years. We get NIU and Toledo at home, and three very winnable non-conference game to go with one very difficult (but who knows) game. If we cant win 8-9 games next year we have big problems.

RE: 2018 Roster
I would much rather have a true freshmen snapper and a punter going into a big game then a true freshmen quarterback going into a big game (unless we are playing in a national championship, true freshmen appear to do well there)

RE: 2018 Roster
Both are highly ranked.
Ben Armer and Potter were highly ranked coming out of HS and started 4 years. Pfier started 4 years as a long snapper. Not a big deal.

RE: 2018 Roster
Compared to the roster in late August 2017, these are the players that were listed as seniors that are not listed on the new 2018 roster:
Rodney Graves WR
Brendan Tabone QB
Derrick Mitchell P
Keenan Erb K
Nick Matich DL
Jackson Knipper DL
Elliot Jordan OL
Austin Regan K
Jason Evans K
Martin Diaz LS (maybe wish we had him for next yr?)

Mostly walkons. Matich Jordan and Mitchel all have their degrees. Graves and Jordan weren’t going to see the field.

Graves was a redshirt fresh that is transferring..and Jackson Knipper was a walkon freshman.

You might get your wish. I'll take a 5th year D1 punter who can take a freshman under his wing for a summer and full season.
