RE: 1/25 AAC Basketball Games
I know this is late, but I just now looked on here again.

Just a little common knowledge info to anyone unawares....Tulsa's nickname is singular. We are the Golden Hurricane or Hurricane for short. Not Hurricanes. Nor are we showers, rains, fogs, or mists with gorillas in them.

Thank you friends. Have a nice evening! 04-cheers

Well their was that final four in the sixties, and elite eight in the eighties. I'd say that is some tradition and meaningful postseason appearances.

Obviously no one in this league has old history as good a Cincinnati.
No one in this league has better history in the last couple decades than UConn.
Houston and Memphis have had some really good periods, so has Tulsa.
WSU and Cincinnati have had good recent history with WSU's being better.

It all adds up to a potentially excellent basketball conference.
Don't really know what there is to argue about.

That final four in the sixties was five final fours and two championships. That time elite eight in the nineties was two elite eights in the nineties and a final four. We also have several sweet sixteens in the last 15 years and have made the tournament every single year since 1992 except the rebuild from 2007-2010. We were the Ap number one team in the country at some point in 1996, 1997 and 2000. Unfortunately, the tournament has not reflected our success. This data point is not the only measure. WSU<UC

You misunderstand, those were Wichita State's accomplishments not Cincinnati. That paragraph was addressing Big O's assertion that WSU " have almost no tradition or meaningful postseason appearances outside of the past six years.". I think I gave you proper credit for your past success. I don't think even you , who seems to be a little defensive, argue that WSU's success in the last 6 years has not eclisped Cincinatti's .

My mistake. Lazy reading. I think Wichita has a strong past. I am old enough to remember Xavier McDaniel and strong Wichita teams from the early 80s. However, there is no contest about the all time view. If you take the last 6 years, no doubt Wichita State has a better performance.

No argument on that, I think a lot of people in Wichita have been Cincinnati fans over the years. Many of the great things the Bearcats did were while WSU was in the same conference. You always have a little pride when a respected team from your conference does well.
