He usually overdoses it a bit but is pretty decent. Based on his record, someone will probably get 8-13 inches, but in all likelihood will not be that large of a swath and may even be in a completely different spot. Last year he pegged me for 8 inches and Richmond for 4. I got 5 and Richmond got 8.

So, he's just as accurate as the weathermen without the cheesy jokes and the ability to call people idiots. That'll work for me.

Pretty much. He always throws out something different than the news though so he can beat his chest when he is right. That's his shtick.
Even by Virginia snowstorm standards, this is a tricky forecast because the gradients for snowfall are very tight. The difference between, say, 2 inches and 10 inches may be like 50 miles. A slight turn to the east and you guys might not get anything. A slight turn to the west and you might get more than a foot. Too much of a turn to the west and it might suck in warmer air, changing it to a rain/snow mix or even straight-up rain.
I drove back to D.C. from Norfolk today, avoiding the storm out of fear that I'd be stuck there if the worst came to pass. We're supposed to get an inch or two, but the closer to the coast it gets, the more we might get. Whatever falls is going to accumulate, which is the other unusual thing about this storm for around here — cold ground + cold air = insta-stick.

How the hell is that good news? You want to go to work/school?
Grownups typically have work that needs to be done; weather or no weather.
This grown up has a Masters degree, swore an oath to defend the Constitution, a decent job..... and thankfully never lost my sense of humor.

I drove into Richmond from Powhatan and all Richmond interstates, highways and side roads are pretty bad. I'd imagine its pretty bad down there huh?
Hard to say how many inches have fallen because the wind is gusting so much. I'd guess six inches so far, plus or minus, but it is swirling and drifting.
I cannot comment on the roads, because I'm not going anywhere. Thankfully, I'm among the lucky who have not lost power.
HEY THATS MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!! I don't know him but believe he is the guy always flying a drone around the front of the neighborhood on the Fentress Rd entrance to the hood.
If he posts any vids of the lake around the powerlines post please!

Yup! He's over off Fentress Loop. He is a good friend of mine. I'm over on Brandermill on the other side.
Ya, he's the dude with the flood videos and such. His little vieography/photography side gig turned full time for a while but the demand was too hectic for family life so it's a side hobby/cash thing mainly now.
