'CA Better Hold On Tight': ICE Dir Promises Doubling of Officers
http://insider.foxnews.com/2018/01/02/ic...-state-law

Quote:Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Thomas Homan said California "better hold on tight" after its liberal Democratic governor allowed a sanctuary state law to take effect this week.

Neil Cavuto said that Gov. Jerry Brown claimed the law will protect illegal immigrants living quietly in the shadows of society from law enforcement intent on "yanking them out of there."

"I think it's terrible," Homan said, adding that Brown's action put politics in front of public safety.

Quote:"If [Brown] thinks he is protecting the community, he's doing quite the opposite," Homan said. "[Brown] is knowingly putting law enforcement at risk.

"There's no sanctuary from law enforcement," he said. "California better hold on tight - they're about to see a lot more deportation officers. If politicians don't protect their communities then ICE will."

Homan said illegal alien smuggling organizations will use the California law as a "selling point" and that Brown "bit off a lot more than he can chew."

Homan said that Brown and other sanctuary-jurisdiction leaders may have violated 8 U.S. Code § 1324 - relating to "harboring certain aliens."

He said he hopes the Justice Department will look into whether officials can be criminally charged under the statute.

The problem is that the local authorities in California refuse to work with the ICE agents. In fact, about once a week a picture pops up in the newspaper of an ICE agent being denied access by local PD. The press just fauns all over it and the sheeple proclaim victory over the oppressive Trumpster.

Maybe red state America should put economic sanctions on California for supporting illegal aliens? Surely that can't be a bad idea, vis-a-vis state sanctions? Can't see how it's not a perfect solution. I mean, some smart guy somewhere probably already though of this.

It's a meme from both sides. Seems to come up after every POTUS election, etc.

That might be a good idea, except liberals keep moving in massive numbers to red states and begin trying to ruin them like the states they left.

Asheville is a very... unique... place. Great beer, beautiful scenery, and in a great part of North Carolina.

It has long been the hippie capital of the Carolinas... for some reason, they all flock there. You travel a half hour west and nary a hippie will you find.

That's what the guy I was meeting with said. He grew up in Asheville proper but said he had to move out to the sticks when his kids were small because of the weirdness.

We provide tons of agriculture....and there has to be atleast one other noteworthy thing we provide that can't be done in the rest of the US....I don't know...something....I'm sure.

Ohio, Illinois are great. People need to move there. Chicago is a garden spot. 03-wink

It's more of a city mouse/country mouse thing than a state thing. City folks are miserable. Thank God I'm a country boy.
