WASHINGTON — During a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016, George Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, made a startling revelation to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain: Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton.
About three weeks earlier, Mr. Papadopoulos had been told that Moscow had thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign.
Exactly how much Mr. Papadopoulos said that night at the Kensington Wine Rooms with the Australian, Alexander Downer, is unclear. But two months later, when leaked Democratic emails began appearing online, Australian officials passed the information about Mr. Papadopoulos to their American counterparts, according to four current and former American and foreign officials with direct knowledge of the Australians’ role.

Desperate is clinging to tales of dossiers and wayward FBI agents in support of a lying, orange-hued huckster who has filed bankruptcy more times than Elizabeth Taylor filed for divorce.

Fake News! The Donald and The Liz are tied at six apiece.
Liz only divorced five men (she dumped Richard Burton twice), so Donald has more bankruptices than Liz had ex-husbands.
She was pretty hot before she discovered doughnuts:

I read the entire article, your description seems most likely accurate. Seemed more likely pushing a narrative rather than presenting compelling evidence.

Yeah I read it and laughed....there is this Australian dude who saw this trump dude drunk at a bar and dude he said they like had some dirt and stuff on Hillary and dude, i said whoa. Then like you know boom, there it was dude. So then they got this doucheier and junk and like he needs to be impeached dude because it's like in the New york times. - the democrat mind.
While they are watching this shiny bobble Lindsey Graham all but said the FBI used the phony dossier to get FiSA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign. We will see either mass resignations or criminal charges. Maybe both.

Fake news. If George Papadopoulos was so important to the FBI “investigation” why did all “intelligence” JAR report without ever speaking to him?
Not even once? Additionally, worth noting is nowhere in the JAR (Comey, Brennan and Clapper construct) is anything about George Papadopoulos even hinted or alluded to. Also, Maggie Haberman is all over Wikileaks as a DNC propagandist.

She is a complete nutjob. Bless her heart.
This is the real story not the shiny bobble the democrats are chasing

Man the dems are getting desperate.
I guess they can't ride this fake collusion train much longer. This article only highlights the acts of a small time brown-noser, eager to climb the political ladder. Nothing in this article points to Pap being directed by anyone from the Trump campaign. Pap and Flynn did some things, and they have been caught. Glad Trump's top advisors were smart enough to keep him at a distance. Too bad the liberal Times won't expend this much energy looking into Hillary and her family's many dubious affairs (emails, DNC, Clinton Foundation, Huma, Wasserman-Shultz, ...). You get the idea.
