NY taxpayers in a frenzy
the south will rise again.....lmao....

http://abc7ny.com/finance/rush-to-pay-pr...t/2826475/

Quote:Throughout the New York area, many homeowners are making a mad rush to get their property taxes filed before the new federal tax code goes into effect in 2018.

The law signed by President Trump caps the deduction for state and local taxes at $10,000. That's expected to hit hard in areas where property taxes are high.

Yes and it is perfectly legal to do so. You can pay a year ahead. Given the tax law change, if I lived in one of those high tax areas and could afford it, Id try and do the same.

New Yorkers must hate poor people, and wish for sick kids to not receive health care.

I just checked and I come in a tad bit under the 10K ceiling, so I'll just do all my taxes at once.

If they have an issue with losing the deduction of taxes over $10K they should take it up with the state and local governments to lower their taxes. Why should I subsidize their federal tax break? Boo freaking hoo.

Democrats should just donate 10% more than required 40% if really rich. We should start taxing by party affilition.

Nah, they don't want to pay more themselves, they want to make someone else pay more.

That's the rub too, isn't it? People like Warren Buffet, Google's former CEO, etc could have voluntarily paid more tax if they thought that was the right thing to do. They decided not to voluntarily pay more. That says a lot about those who call for higher taxes.
