RE: 12/22 - Howard
If we don't beat Greensboro College, I can't look at our schedule and see another win all year. Every team in the CAA is better than Howard or Greensboro College. This will be a must win. Say what you want about Keatts, but he made it a PRIORITY to contain the leading scorers on every team we played. And rarely did their top scorer exceed their average. He made other players beat you. This year, leading scorers have had career games almost every time.

Played tight at the end? Howard was 2-12. Why was this game close enough that it mattered? And, how in the world do two players knock down 30 and 40+ points in a game against us? Are you telling me there is NO game plan that could have stopped that? Are we seriously going to play man to man even if we only win 2 games all year?
I am getting to the point I will be shocked if Cacok stays. I wouldn't, and I will have nothing to say if it happens. This is possibly the worst loss I can remember as a UNCW fan.
I gotta think that is a distinct possibility
If McGrath is not going to play to your strengths...
Why would Cacok transfer entering his senior year? He would have to sit out a year.
Sit out a year, get your degree at the new school and the come back in year 2 at the new school taking ballroom dancing or underwater basket weaving so you can focus 100% on basketball for 1 final showcase Year
I want nothing more than for Cacok to stay here and find success, but if the man in charge isn't going to play toyour strengths then you gotta do whats in your individual best interest
And delay another year before you can get paid decent money to play basketball. Cacok is a lock to play in a European league where you can make a comfortable living.

Could go play in the Big Baller League?
I don't think anyone is that stupid.

Easy. He could sit out while finishing his degree for the most part. After that, he has a year of ball somewhere and can take cupcake classes with no pressure.
It happens more than you think it would, actually. I think it was Drexel that had a CAA player of the year that did it just a couple years ago.
A little different but that was Damion Lee who was granted a medical redshirt one of his seasons at Drexel, and therefore graduated in the normal 4 years at the school. He was able to be a grad transfer and not have to sit out. Transferred to Louisville in hopes of playing in the NCAA tourney. But we all know how that worked out with the self imposed post season ban for hookers.

RE: 12/22 - Howard
Part of the problem in closing out games is that they kind of went away from what worked in Talley's first year. He would get downhill off a ball screen and either get fouled, make a floater, kick it or draw multiple guys that would allow for a dump down or stick back. I didn't see the game but I bet that we didn't do that. He was/is a good closer.

The part of the process I'm trusting at this point is the recruiting. So far, McGrath has done a solid job of early recruiting for next year. We have some guys on the way that look quite talented. On top of that, Gary is progressing very well. It was nice to see him get that confidence in his shot tonight.
It may be a tough year. It may be a tough two years, but we can and will be back!

Fair enough. I hope stays and the team improves this year and he leads them to a CAA title this and next year! I just saw that his mom? posted this in response to tonights game.

RE: 12/22 - Howard
I could be wrong but I remember McGrath saying something along the lines about focusing on the basics instead of scouting other teams. I thought this was an odd statement. After all the off season work the basics should be covered. Granted they didn't have much time to scout this team but they had halftime to make adjustments. I would think scouting would be a huge part of basketball at this level.
