Homelessness, up in 2017
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) annual assessment report to Congress for 2017 found that total homelessness in the U.S. increased for the first time since 2010. The one-night survey, involving tens of thousands of volunteers in some 3,000 cities and counties, counted 553,742 homeless people, an increase of 0.7 percent since the 2016 count. Overall, 360,867 people were located in transitional housing and emergency shelters while 192,875 persons were in unsheltered locations

Sounds like illegals were kicked out of people's houses because people learned that harboring a criminal was a felony.

lol...its like clockwork. The "homeless" always get sudden attention when a republican is in office. The day before Obama entered office---we have a HUGE homeless problem. The day after...nary a word is spoken about them for 8 long years. The play book has become so old and stale. Dont you have anything new? Any original thoughts over there at all? No wonder Hollywood liberals cant do anything beyond churning out Avengers 8 and Fast and Furious 22.

it ranks up there with all the commercials begging to give to 'some fund' during december, when they have to pay for salaries, air time, etc.......

what a joke....

Did you ask King "Usurper of the Executive Orders" Oballah to do so? This is like asking to solve poverty. Give me a break! Let's focus on improving the economy and giving more tools in the tool belt to folks to live independent of government assistance first.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel for something to complain about.

Not surprising, it's been another horrific week for the dems.

I don't recall a single word about homelessness in the entire 8 years Obama was in office. And trust me, I've watched the nightly news for many years. You know what I wish was up? I wish leaving was up.

Most likely due to all the drugs Obama helped smuggle into the country.

Opioid Crisis, which has its genesis under Bill Clinton. It exploded during the Obama presidency.

Homelessness down in 30 states. I've got a pretty good idea what color the majority of the 20 states with an increase are.

Funny how the homeless and vets suddenly start coming up this past year. Heartbreaking that it's the party that does them the most harm that always try to use them as a puppet when not I power.

There were two "homeless" guys panhandling a block away from a Lowes store that had a sign looking for employees. Ironic, isn't it.

They're not working because they don't want to work. Or as Maynard G. Krebs used to scream in fear, "WORK!"

But that's how they use all kinds of poor people. Use then for examples, but don't dare solve the problem. Keep 'em dumb, keep 'em poor, keep 'em dependent on handouts, and you'll keep 'em voting democrat.

We had a "homeless" guy who was a frequent flyer for EMS. Dude could have bought the ambulances he rode in we found out later. Seems he got pissed off at his entitled children and just walked away from everything. Deputy who fined him for trespassing told us after he found out about it in court. Dude explained the deal to the judge and asked if he paid a fine & restitution if he could avoid a criminal record. He knew his kids could find him if there were an entry on his criminal record.
