It's political because it's likely only being done by trump to throw a bone to the religious zealots that helped get him elected, the same nuts trying to hasten the rapture.

More bigoted trolling from the usual suspects.
There is no such thing as "hastening" the rapture or the 2nd coming. Its coming on the day it was meant to happen no matter what any Christian or Jew does. The bible makes clear the church age (also called the age of grace/time of the gentiles) will end about 2000 years after Christ, and no one can change or alter the timing.
Christians don't support Israel because we have control over the rapture or 2nd coming, we support Israel because God promised to bless those who love and support Israel, even when they are defying and rejecting their Messiah. He also promised to curse and punish those who hate Israel, or divide up the Holy Land.
For bible believing Christians, Americas support of the Jews is DIRECTLY connected to our stunning and rapid rise to global superpower.

RE: 128 countries vote against Israel and United States
God is clearly dealing with Jerusalem on a biblical jubilee cycle, just as promised in the OT:
1517 AD -Muslim Turks conquer Jerusalem (Luther officially begins protest against RCC, Protestantism born)
1867 AD - Charles Warren discovers City of David in Jerusalem
1917 AD - Gen Allenby captures Jerusalem from the Muslim Turks (Balfour declaration passed, calling for a Jewish state in the holy land)
1967 AD - Israel recaptures Jerusalem and the temple mount for the first time in 2 millennia
2017 AD- Trump defies the united nations and recognizes Jerusalem as the eternal undivided capitol of Israel, sending shockwaves and triggering massive condemnations from the UN and Muslim world. (500th anniversary of Luthers protest, same year of Revelation 12 sign)
But I'm sure its all just an absolutely perfect set of coincidences spread out over 500 years involving multiple world powers and religions.

I know that.
I'm saying that I don't believe that the nuts know that.

No, its a message to the Palestinians that Israel is not going away and its time to get realistic.

That's a byproduct that Trump hopes happens after doing this. If the prominence of Israel in U.S. foreign policy was not supported by a significant block of GOP voters, then Trump would not have gone down this path and the status quo remains. For Israel, the status quo is not hurting them. For the U.S., the status quo should not be an issue either because so long as there are other issues to deal with in the ME exist - like mopping up ISIS plus navigating the Shiite vs Sunni conflicts and how they encompass Iran, Iraq and Syria - putting a lid on Israeli controversies is a win.

Anyone who still has doubts, I implore you to read these things in the bible for yourself. By all means, don't just blindly take my or anyone elses word for it. You don't have to blindly guess if the bible is true, its already a proven fact for those who open the book and read it and compare it with secular recorded history.

Quote:The U.S. Mission to the United Nations announced Sunday that it negotiated a major reduction in the U.N.’s budget for the upcoming fiscal years.
According to a statement from the mission, the 2018-2019 U.N. budget will have a $285 million reduction from the previous two years.
“In addition to these significant cost savings, we reduced the UN’s bloated management and support functions, bolstered support for key U.S. priorities throughout the world, and instilled more discipline and accountability throughout the UN system,” the statement reads.

For unbelievers: This verse was written 750 years BEFORE Christ was born. Open your hearts before it's too late. Don't believe yourself wise and smug and let pride bring you down. You will gain nothing.
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

This is to placate the religious right. They have a connection to the state of Israel because they believe that if/when Israel becomes "complete" and the temple is rebuilt, that it kicks off Armageddon. This is the only reason why the values wing of the GOP gives one rip about Israel.
This has nothing to do with hating Jewish people. Quite the contrary. Jewish people have contributed a great deal to the human race in recent history. The issue is that their claim to the land has long been forfeit since the they first lost their independence. The northern kingdom was lost well before Judah was conquered by the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans. Judah and the Jews who lived in Jerusalem didn't even think of the Samaritans (end product of the Assyrian rule of the Northern kingdom) as real worshipers of Yaweh. In biblical terms, the 10 lost tribes that made up the northern kingdom were "lost" due to interbreeding with other peoples that the Assyrians relocated to Israel. The "southern kingdom" - actually Judah - did not think of Samaritans as anything but dogs and not as the chosen people. Judah went on as an independent state for awhile longer and was conquered by the Babylonians, Persians, Greeks and Romans. For the sake of argument, let's establish a firm date where the Jews were "officially" thrown out of "Israel"around 136 CE at the end of the Jewish revolts against Rome. Around that time period, Israel was long gone as an actual entity and many boundaries were redrawn to make Roman provinces. From that point on, there were some limited successes for Jews to immigrate back to Jerusalem and greater Israel. However, it wasn't until the Zionist movement that was supported by Britain - who came into possession of the middle east after WWI from the Ottomans - when Jews made any real inroads into repopulating the land. The UN in 1948 finally opened the floodgates for the Jews flung across the glob to want to go back.
Long response, but IMHO important on why I believe what I do. Bottom line is that the Jews in Israel lost their claim to that land a long time ago and it was the U.N. in 1948 that finally restored it to them. What the world did in 1948 was to cause a sh!t storm by placing the Jews into their ancestral homeland - a homeland that long slipped from their grasp just like large tracts of the U.S. slipped from the grasp of various native American Indian tribes. Really, it comes again from the arrogance of Europe (and the U.S. unfortunately) to arbitrarily move boundaries around for their own convenience and to deposit the Jews in the Middle East out of guilt for what Hitler did - and of course to get the "undesirables" out of their country. Because lets face it, Europe in particular has a nasty strain of anti-semitism themselves. They were more than happy to off load some Jews from their own countries.
Sorry for the long response.
Just like Serrano told Jobu at the end of Major League, the Isreali military says "F*** You" to your opinion about the land being forfeit. Mr. M16 and Mr. Sherman trumps miko33's bigoted opinion.

I hope you guys know that the the Quran have of the Old Testaments from the Bible in it? They even teach Jesus as a Prophet. Islam, Jews and Christians all is a branch from Ancient Israeli Religion. That is why Jerusalem is important for all three Religions.

No, the OT is not in the Quran. Clearly you have never read either the Quran or the OT, which begs the question why are you making declarative statements about whats in them? The Muslims believe in SOME of the Torah (first 5 books), but neither the OT or Torah have anything about Islam or Mohammad in them. The Muslims actually reject what 90% of the Torah teaches because its all about the Jews and the coming Christ.
Islam is a made up out of thin air by one single man (Mohammad) some 600+ years after Christ. There is absolutely ZERO precedent for it in the OT at all.
The entire bible, starting with the 5 books of Moses is about Jesus Christ. He is the central figure of both the OT and NT.
