They won the NC a couple years ago, so believe they should always be in the top #10.
Last year they learned what it was like to play in a baseball conference.
and they didn't win that either.
I'm sorry, since you mention both in your post, are you wanting to talk about our national championship year before last or do you want to talk about last year, our first year we "learned to play in a baseball conference" where we went through the league with a 20-7-1 record, won the series against your team on your home field, and won the conference championship in our inaugural year?
Yea....yea....Coastal was reeeeeally shell shocked coming into this "baseball league."
Well, we certainly enjoyed playing you . . .
Texas State took a chunk out of our rear ends. That's a fact. Congrats to you guys on that.
But to go along with the "you're in a real baseball league" argument, we did lose a series every now and again in the Big South too.
I'm not making any "real baseball league" argument. Sun Belt aside, there are a lot of good baseball leagues out there . .
I do think that the four games we played against y'all (last year) were some of the best we played all season . . . Am hoping for more of the same this year.
Happy Holidays!

Actually, they did.....
They didn't win when it counted the most. That would be us that did that.
The foot was on the bag. There is photo proof. Not our fault Ty Harrington whines and gets every call imaginable.

You do know that your response is to a post by USAJAGS. . and that Ty Harrington doesn't Coach for the Jags. . . . Don'tcha?
And if you are Raggin' on Ty, well, it just comes off as sour grapes. . . . In 4 games last year (against y'all) Ty won 3. Including a win in the Tournament.

I'm aware.
Should have been 2-2. Just saying we should not have been bounced in the first round.

RE: Collegiate Basebell Top 40 Pre-Season Poll
I'm very impressed with what Dallas Baptist has been able to do as such a small school ... I see they have a #11 ranking. It's a quiet small private college on the outskirts of Dallas that nobody really hears about but they've been kicking ass in baseball which is their only Division I sport. We lost like 5+ straight to them but also they've been beating other bigger schools like Oklahoma, Virginia, etc.
Hopefully 2018 will be the year we stomp them to the ground and put them in their small school place

It should be noted the Cajuns' #18 ranking is due, in part, to Gunner Leger, who was named a preseason second team All-American by the same website who ranked the Cajuns at 18.
Leger will likely redshirt.

Good god, what is this Leger's 8th year?

When you are really good as a freshman, it seems longer. He never took a redshirt year, so this could be it.
But one way or the other, you'll see him again.

We're hoping his surgery adds another 3-4 mph to his FB. ;-)

I’m surprised Coastal isn’t in the top 40 but don’t care about preseason rankings. As far as being in a real baseball conference, we win the regular season despite having a down year ... I’ll take it.

If Georgia Southern can piece together a bullpen, I'm optimistic.
We're going to be fourth or fifth in the preseason poll despite returning the entire weekend rotation- along with the guy who was robbed of Freshman of the Year and All-SBC honors - and likely having an overall better hitting team.
Maybe we can sweep some home series instead of getting brutalized in the RPI for only winning 2-of-3 this year.

Praying for Bobby Spitulski and his family. They were in a car accident today and were seriously injured. Bobby was in critical condition and is continuing to fight after surgery. Bobby is a freshman on Troy's baseball team.

Wow. I’ll send my positive mojo his way. Hope he and his family have a full recovery.
