Al Franken Still Has Not Left, Despite His ‘Resignation’ Two Weeks Ago
[Image: 2vltbux.jpg]

If the reason he’s supposed to resign is because the accusations are so unbearable to have him stay, why is he still there?

Quote:Democratic Sen. Al Franken resigned from Congress two weeks ago amid continuing sexual misconduct allegations. However, despite his replacement being appointed earlier this week, he’s yet to say when he’ll empty his Capitol Hill office and return to Minnesota, as he vowed after his Dec.7 resignation speech on the Senate floor.

“Tina Smith will make an excellent United States Senator. … I look forward to working with her on ensuring a speedy and seamless transition,” Franken said in a statement after the Minnesota lieutenant governor was appointed, with no mention of when he’ll leave.

In his resignation speech, Franken said only that he’ll be leaving in the “coming weeks.”

And multiple people on Capitol Hill, including those in Senate leadership, told Fox News that they doesn’t know when he’ll leave.

“I’ll be coming home,” was Franken’s only response to a Fox News question after his speech about future plans.

Doug Jones screwed up his excuse for not resigning, so he's just going to hope everyone forgets about it.

He will be an anvil around the neck of the democrats the longer he doesnt step down.

He won’t leave until his replacement is put into place.

Nice math. Dec. 7 to Dec. 16 = 2 weeks. You must have taken the math courses at Trump University.

I hope he does decide not to resign. The ads against Manchin showing him standing next to Franken grabbing boobs will be non-stop.

Yea, well.

Manchin can just as well punch his ticket to Minneapolis to hang out with Franken here shortly.

He’ll be gone in a matter of months. He talks a decent game, but if he’s in the bathtub with a clown show like smalley he should just start packing his bags.

Not to sound like Bill Clinton here, but I believe Franken said he WILL resign, he did not say he IS resigning during that presser. So I guess it depends on what the meaning of WILL, IS. 05-stirthepot

The Democrats are hoping he stays on to become the deciding no vote to the tax cut bill in the senate. Seat Doug Jones, and an incapacitated McCain and guess what? You didn't honestly think the Dem's were going to be honest now? That's not what their about. Haven't you learned this by now?

Maybe Franken is like one of those dweebs who posts a two page farewell soliloquy from Facebook and who is back posting a day later.

Well so far the Democrats haven't provided a single yes vote on any Trump related initiative. Then again once the bill becomes a fait accompli,
I would expect Democrats from more conservative leaning states to come on board.

Al and the Dems egos won't actually let Him leave. It was a grandstanding ploy to try and keep Moore out and try to embarrass Trump and Republicans. All B.S.

Why would you? The guy lost and he can't be prosecuted. The news story is over. Unless he runs again.

Now that he lost and can point to definitive financial damages which is a requirement, if I don't see a defamation lawsuit against all of the players I'll just assume more of this was accurate than we believed.

Discovery is going to be awesome. Especially when Alredge is thrown in and she has to disclose non-client communications and who paid her retainer.
