You could do 2 tourny's a 16 bid tourny NCAA and a NIT with 16 additional ....if your not in that group you don't deserve post season.

16 team w all conf champs in is the only way--- 6 at large bids allows the best conferences to get multiple teams in. Everyone is happy.

Instead we continue with this mockery of a playoff.
