The only thing more stupid that has been done that I've heard is putting all the bathrooms on the ground level. Yes, can you believe it...NO RESTROOMS ON THE CONCOURSE!! All attendees will have to walk down a stairway or take the elevator to a restroom. How much you want a bet they'll be figuring a way to get some there by year 2!

This just hit me yesterday when looking at camera 3 (which I look at everyday when they're up). I realized outside of the Priority Club, there was nothing there on that level; no restrooms, no concessions. I know this was a money decision so I understand, but I feel like that's a big miss to having a legit stadium.

Pretty sure there will be small movable concessions (hotdogs, bbq, etc.) on the concourse level

There will be concessions on the second level. The west side is going to have the nacho bar and the east side will have the Philly cheese steak stand.

On an earlier post MrBigBlue seemed to be lamenting the lack of space for portapotties in the aftermath of the construction. Maybe here is where they can make him happy.

The I believe that we will win chant to me is very high school and overused (I know the USMNT and USWNT have been using it but still, my own and every high school we faced used that chant and made it seem amateur to me) so I personally wouldn't like it, but hey I'm just one person.

I think there was a thread back in the day that was dedicated to traditions and such. I loved the stadium split "We are!" "Monarchs!" chant but it never caught on and I think it was placed at a weird time in the leadup to the team running out and it could've potentially mirrored VT so much that they probably decided to stay away from it. Maybe having it after the team runs out would make it better? idk.

The bell could have been used as a 4Q tradition, have a fan or cheerleader or Big Blue Ring it to signify the 4th quarter.

There are a lot of things I tried starting when I cheered that either only caught on within the cheer squad or fizzled out over the years. I still have ideas but have no idea where or who to send it to. I thank the band for adopting the "We are Monarchs!" chant during Zombie Nation at basketball games that I started, but the students don't do it when they are literally standing (sitting) right next to them so it hasn't fully caught on

Could of had some fun with the bell. At the 4th qtr do a "All Hands on Deck" or a little more aggressive "Monarchs to your Battle Stations".

Although its a stupid decision by the AD to not even pursue the bell from the big E there is nothing stopping us from doing that with a custom bell or a fog horn and name it after a mythical carrier/destroyer "USS Old Dominion". I know it will not have a personal connection to Navy but at least we won't need special connections to make that happen.

CVN68 USS Nimitz will be decommissioned in the mid 2020s. Maybe we could try in again later!

True. I personally wouldn't have believed it had it not been an ODU alum posting it on our forum with the information from another ODU alum being his superior. There are always risks and I personally don't want to act like I know all the risks that comes with that decision because I don't but to a third/fourth person reading OP's input it's easy to assume it's rather easy to perceive it as stupidity when you have someone in the middle facilitating it. Again not everyone in that communication channel might have all the info but to say "No thanks" instead of we will consider it says something. Doesn't it?

VT has the lunch pail to symbolized blue collar approach to hard work given to a player.

From day one I always thought we should have a symbol like that for hard work and outstanding play from 1 player each week. Maybe a hard hat would be a good symbol because ODU is always building. Maybe the super fan aka the hard hat guy could hold the hard hat that is given out to the best player that week.

I guess the ODU dog tag never became a tradition?

Not that it matters now. But I did in fact see the email chain, that ended up with "No Thanks". Even if he said, let's do it, we have no way of knowing if we would of gotten the bell. You aren't going to get the prettiest girl to dsnce if you don't ask. I for one think we are missing the boat big time not teaming up with the Navy more. 25% of students at ODU have a direct connection with the Navy and just 4 miles from the stadium is 100,000 young men and women looking for something to do on the weekends.
