Awesome! Going to definitely start shooting up fast now. And glad they're hosting them on Facebook or some other platform other than neulion.

It looks like they are behind schedule if you look at the animated timeline. I hope the bad weather does not mess up the schedule too much and that they have some cushion built in.

RE: NEW stadium construction
Do we have a confirmed capacity of the new stadium? I have heard 21,400 but I don't think anything has been confirmed.

The number keeps dropping I heard from someone in facilities management it's around 20,800 but occupancy and capacity to be determined by fire marshals once built.

RE: NEW stadium construction
Maybe we will pick up a few more seats when they enclose the end zone. If they raise that as high as the rest of the stadium and fill in the corners we can probably get another couple thousand in there. Plus completing the horseshoe would be great for sound containment and visual impact.

I guess things changed when Charlotte officials came up for a visit to see how FBS startups should be done. Problem is it looks like they showed us how urban FBS should be done. And we're getting closer to them every day now.

RE: NEW stadium construction
The student section endzone will probably be 1-2 years behind the initial phase, but the AD is working REALLY hard to get that done next. Wood Selig is big on aesthetics and hates that endzone. His idea to get partnerships with local businesses to build commercial space under the bleachers fell through, but he's making an aggressive push in some other areas to secure funding. When that gets redone it'll add a few thousand extra seats and really finish off the look of the stadium during Phase 1.

Is there any reason they can’t put classroom or administrative space under the end zone? Heck, they could even build a dorm there and attach seating to the back of it and a nice scoreboard in top.

Why don't you ask someone who might know the answer to that question, cause it's an interesting one, instead of relying on rank speculation?

Build a dorm in the endzone? Come on we are not that desperate for state money.

Where's that Mississippi State baseball video I posted?
It would pay for itself. Upcharge for residency. Visit your kids on game-day! And if not there will be keg stands on the balconies after every TD! LOL.

As much as the state has screwed over the University in general historically and athletics in particular recently I would be all for putting a dorm or some manner of educational space under the north endzone so the good folks in the General Assembly could help pay for completion of The Steve.

Well not exactly Dorm some Educational or academic training facility underneath it will be great and will secure some funding from state. What's wrong with using the facility for Academics when not in use for anything else its not like it will intervene with game day experience.

Exactly. I wish someone from ODU would address why they aren't doing this. Is it not possible? If it is, why aren't we going that route? It seems to make so much sense.

P5 schools do it all the time. I hope ODU has at least considered this option.
