A real school would fire Tubby before they get back to Memphis.
Didn't Cal lose by more than that to 'em his second year -- you know, the ticker tape parade year? We are not very good, couldn't handle the road, and UAB is a little better than I thought. It's where we are in basketball these days. Nobody's happy.
You can't play Parks that many minutes. No offense to the kid, but he isn't a D1 player right now. Rivers can't play the 3. We spotted this team 10 points at the beginning of the game for this nonsense. We did this against every team we played. It caught up with us when we played teams with real athletes.

Martin, Brewton, Thornton, Rivers, Davenport.
Replace the freshmen in from 2-4 if you want. I don't care.
But that's our rotation, that's our starting line up. Rhodes can bring the ball up when Martin is tired.
We lost because of coaching. We lost the Ole Miss game last year because of nonsense like this.

Yep but Cal was one heck of a PR man so he could sell hope, plus he was one heck of a recruiter so he was able to give us hope on the next season. I don't remember now, but how did we end up finishing Cal's 2nd season?
Uh, with a ticker tape parade?
He took over a Tubby level disaster and in his 2nd year he won 27 games and won the NIT
I wonder what your hero is gonna do with the juco church league team in his 2nd year?

Well, you don't need worry about it unless someone comes up with buyout money. I do wonder why you think Penny wouldn't be a good coach, or, at the least, no more a disaster than where we are now.
We owe tubby around 10 Million and I think we are still on the hook to pay Pastner 3 Million.
I don't know about the Pastner number. I know we agreed to supplement his salary at GT for some period. The Tubby buyout sounds about right. I used to be a basketball fan first, football second, but, at this point, I'm willing to accept bad basketball if we have to spend the bucks to keep the football program progressing. I'm assuming here that we can't have everything.
We should. We are paying a lot more for our basketball program than we are our football program. It isn't because of money that our team is so bad, it is because of a disastrous hire.

You mean the year we at least won the NIT?
Do you think we even make the NIT this year?
And Cal had a great recruiting class coming in the next year.
Grandpa has a 300 recruit who doesn't even start for his high school team coming in next year. That is our entire class so far!
Please don't be a complete blind IDIOT and compare Cal to Grandpa Tubbs. There is NO comparison.
The comparison is that we lost to a worse UAB team, by more, and still managed to salvage the season. I don't know how this one will turn out, or the next one (that's not looking good just past the early signing period, but . . . ), but I and everybody else who was watching wasn't expecting this team to be very good. Maybe not this BAD, either, but not very good.

We don't have ANY talent. Nothing you posted matters. The only thing that will fix any of this is to recruit better players. Which means we need a new coach because this one is incapable and/or unwilling to do the work to accomplish that goal. BETTER PLAYERS IS THE ONLY ANSWER. OUR CURRENT PLAYERS WILL NEVER WIN ANYTHING.

The only player at the moment that looks like a high major rotation player is Martin. Everyone else looks like they should be playing at Kennesaw St.

I have no idea why he's still sticking with starting Parks. But the problem is, we can't play defense so we have to play them all to keep fresh legs, at least.

Parks was struggling keeping up with Northern Kentucky's bigs.
It's insane to think he could move with UAB.
