Didn't see this elsewhere.

Fantastic!!! Congrats to Logan and his team mates!!!
Jon'vea should have been on one of the All MAC teams. 6 first team on Offense, but only one Rocket defender Adeniyi made All MAC as a second teamer,

When I first saw the headline of this thread - I was pi$$ed. I just saw the thread above it talking about Kato Nelson being the "X factor" for the game, then I mistook Woodside for Woodson and I was trying to figure out how in the hell the other Akron QB won POY when he missed games because of suspension...

That would have been a shock on sooo many levels.

It's a shame Cody Thompson isn't recognized. Without a doubt he would be 1st Team.

Suprised but not suprised Moore, Woodley or Mathis didn't make at least 3rd team as seniors.
I hope our defense takes this out personally on Akron. You don't get to 10-2 without defense.

Congrats to all Rocket honorees!
I was on the fence when Candle was hired. Hard to be too picky with his 2 seasons, though. Got us to a MACC game, has maintained the streak over BG, has beaten NIU twice, and didn’t put us stumble against WMU this time (not that last season was a stumble against a clearly very good Broncos team). While has has some learning curve (losing to Ohio twice in what could have been big games at the end), I believe he learns from them. Given the injuries and the expectations I think the COY is well-deserved. How about he stay & go for two in a row? Losing Woodside on offense and Woodley on D (among some others) will make next season more challenging than this one...if he were to lead the Rockets to another MACC game, he would deserve COY again, and even more so.

Would have to say that there really isn't anyone else on Defense deserving of recognition.

In MAC games(8), Toledo was the Conference's #1 Scoring Defense giving up 20.6 points per game. #4 Rush Defense, #2 Pass Efficiency Defense 111.2, #2 Interceptions 11, and #2 in T/O Margin +8. Did something right.

Still think the correct guys were picked. No question the D performed very well most of the MAC slate, execpt for the OU debcale. I attribute that game more to a tired team coming off a big vciotry the week before.

Other than Lurry, Mathis was the best corner in the MAC overall, Phillips does things as a returner, but isn't better than Mathis as a down to down defender, 2nd team at worst

You're probably right about Mathis.

Trevon Mathis should have made All-MAC without a doubt. His performance against WMU alone warrants all conference recognition. Played lights out, continuing an already solid season.

Agreed I thought Mathis should have been at least 2nd team with Moore and Woodley at least 3rd team. A championship will help validate them.

This was my favorite part of the all MAC story in the Blade.
BG punter Joseph Davidson was the Falcons’ sole representative on the first team. Davidson, a native of Findlay, was the only player to earn All-MAC honors for the third year in a row after averaging 44.0 yards per punt.
Apparently BG has punted a lot in the last 3 years.
